Not at all surprised they went down the cancel & refund route. With some people taking the piss and buying $250,000 worth of seats with this error there was no way ANA were going to absorb it.

The refund arbitrage some people supposedly used was also just taking things way too far.

Hong Kong resident Herman Yip told Bloomberg he bought US$250,000 worth of tickets for just US$17,000, saying they were for himself as well as friends and family.

“I didn’t even bother to ask them whether they were able to make it or not, as I needed to book really quickly,” he said.

Considering he was able to book US$17,000 worth of tickets at the drop of a hat, tells me that he's doing pretty fine regardless :P
