EDR Fuel - Points

How does the EDR card work with company fuel cards? Can I use both at the same time?
We have Starcard (Caltex) cards for our fleet. If we swipe the EDR card on the asme transaction as we try and pay with the Starcard, the register cancels the discount .

Unfortunately, they closed that loophole which exited for a couple of months.

Hi Guys,

Not sure if I should start a new thread or not....

Basically I have been using the fuel vouchers method on my EDR instead of the QFF transfer option. Now I am thinking to change it to QFF only. i.e. no fuel saving voucher as I use that on my coles dockets at SHELL.

Let me get this right:

Change my preference in the EDR website from fuel vouchers to QFF?

So if I want to get 2 QFF points per litre at the petrol station, I need to have at least 1 fuel voucher on my EDR card by spending $30+ at woolworths? Then it only activates the QFF transfer???

I usually fill up around 50 to 55 litres a week so I guess that means approx 100 QFF points a week :)

Thanks,
K.

Hi Guys,

An update, I filled in at caltex and I have opted for the 2 points per litre for QFF on my EDR card. But to my surprise I received 5 points per litre instead. Any ideas why this is the case? Is it a special promotion? I filled in early this week.

Cheers,
K.

Sounds like you had one of the 10c/litre vouchers that were on offer this week (for spending $50 I think). Just as a standard 4c/L voucher becomes 2pts/L, the same conversion applies for the higher-discount vouchers (so the 10c/L one becomes 5pts/L and so on).

AFAIK it will always use the highest value voucher first, so even if you had an existing 4c/L one on there, the 10c/L you must have had would take priority.

Thanks for the clarification. Makes sense now. I need more 10 cent vouchers lol

Keep in mind the bonus discount for shopping in store and spending $5 does not apply if points are claimed.

Thanks for clarifying that. I found out but by trial and error.

:) the complications of silly points games

I posted this in another EDR thread, but it belongs here too I think. I hope it is useful for some of you who are chasing maximum points on higher value vouchers, but also need to balance not paying 20cpl or more extra for your fuel...
I use these two ACCC pages, watch the pricing on sign boards, and try to match it to my usage (so I can buy as many litres as possible on large vouchers at as low a possible price)
Cheapest day of the week for petrol prices in the major cities
Sydney

As an example, I predict the price will go up in Sydney tomorrow based on the graph so filled up today, even though I only needed 33L (in a 55L tank) as ~20L won't be enough to get me through to the next trough.

Made the mistake of switching from points to discount just before I popped into the petrol station, got to the counter and it still showed as points when I really wanted the 10c discount this week. I was instead given a 4c voucher as a freebie, but in hindsight probably should have just taken the points... Positive being that I still have my voucher for next time, but I don't actually buy a lot of petrol...
