Seems bizarre, almost a 360 degree turn as if they simply are not looking to target the FF buying market anymore......... of course it might just be an extension on the Pavlov's Dogs experiment to see what difference it makes to those who make a business out of accumulating points in their targetted programs

I think they got a bit of bill shock from the few select macro runs when it came to paying for the points, and have exhausted their budget allocation for QFF points.

Hopefully it is only for this quarter and next month will see an improvement in the offerings.

Sent from my iThing.
Why, because iCan.

Perhaps the reported 15% down in profit may have something to do with it...?

Thinking about it....

2.25 Million EDR users
Average spend $100/wk (~70 QFF)
2.25million x (52/wk x 70 QFF) = 8,190,000,000 QFF or nearly as many points as cove has currently

In this case Joshua's 300k QFF booty would be 0.0036% of the whole EDR pie, perhaps not so noticeable after all...?

It was pretty obvious during the last Macro offer they were being hit hard, I visited 15 supermarkets and all had low macro stocks before I got there.

True, but not everybody is going to spend ~$3k for a targeted offer, but I think you are right, bonuses offering QFF at around 1.2 cents each for many in the know would be QFF being offered, at a price well below their usable value...

Saying this, I think we all will agree that the brakes have been put on too hard currently and we are all looking forward to the 200, 250, 300, 400 & 500 single use bonus offers returning shortly

On the weekend I actually met a few guys at a wedding who actually make select products for WW (and coles homebrand) and have their own brand that WW stocks. I won't mention the brands, but I did make them laugh when I did mention I did buy a couple of their products for the points! They did mention WW does negotiate hard with them but because they have their own brand it makes negotiations a little easier. In hindsight I should have asked them more questions about bonus points and who pays! Any suggestions what questions I should have asked them?

Looking at my spend across WW/BWS/BIGW etc my spend and my bonus point offers has gone down. I have been getting less usable offers, plus BWS offers seemed to have gone completely after their alignment with WWL. I have not been able to use the cellamasters offers (We brew our own wine) but I do plan to eventually get to use a few offers to stock for xmas.

I think my local BWS is missing me. The main guy who works there waved to me as I walked past the other day... I haven't been there in quite a while with no offers.
I had noticed all the advertising is now joint BWS/WW Liquor too.

Hi Markis10, Qantas might be run by an irishman but I did not think Woolies was.....
If the shelves were empty then their promo had the desired result and one would have thought they would then focus on another range to push etc. Seems bizarre that they have had a huge success withe promo so "we better not do it again".
Maybe too many people are too smart ( smarter than they think) and can work out the rules to maximise the points ??
Pity; I would have thought everyone was a winner as the value/cost to them of each QFFpoint is possibly only a cent ?
If their profits are down 15 % then maybe it might have been down more without the EDR's. Everyone I know collects the points so one would have thought it was a huge success for them.
What do others think

Most of WW group decline in profits was due to write downs with DSE. However they still made roughly 2 billion dollars. WW has also invested heavily in WW and masters expansion.

Personally I think they have eased off with the bonus point offers because they have think they have roped us in. Just look at the latest offerings of tiered fuel offers. Now they they trying to get us addicted to their fuel business.

My advice is to keep shopping at other retailers till they realise they have made a mistake.

Just saw their peel and stick promo....surely it would be cheaper for them to just give bonus points for these products...no waste of cost on printing stickers, many of which will be thrown out and on it goes.
On second thoughts maybe an irishman does run Woolies................ Jalan Aoyce

Once my partner joined everyday rewards, I stopped using my card at WW every week so we could take up some of his offers. Suddenly EDR started sending me frequent offers to spend $30 at WW and $30 at Big W to get bonus points. I'd never had these offers before we started this second account. WW had seen me making one or two shops a week and as soon as that stopped they tried to get me "back".

I don't know whether this fuel voucher pattern will continue. I guess the bonus points are going to come back eventually.

Also saw the details on this today. I’d heard about it and assumed or got the impression that they were blanket discounts offered to any product you chose to stick the sticker on, however instead I see they’re for specific products… so I’m not sure what the experiment will prove but I’d rather a discounted item was just discounted at the checkout, and not reliant on me looking through a sticker book to see if I can get a deal!

Seems like a step backwards from 'electronic' offers too.
