Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

Just reviewed my emails for June and i've been so far offered:

300 points for 2 cartons at BWS
500 points for $30 BWS spend
Quarterly statement (took advantage of the 700 point offer)

and this week:

250 points every 700ml spirit at BWS
200 points for $20 seafood spend at Woolworths

I don't know what you blokes who are receiving no offers have been doing wrong.... i would expect to average around 2.5 offers on a normal month.

Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

anybody NOT get an offer today...? or did we all get offers this week...?

Nothing for me today, still I got one recently and fully expect that will be it for a few months.

I did take advantage of the offers and spent $20 on soup and $50 on fresh food as well as >$100 at Big W.

Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

I can only say, How bizarre!

The question is, do they want to encourage people to take up offers or don't they?

I can only imagine that you guys don't spend all that much at Woollies.

I get an offer every couple of weeks or so, but we do spend hundreds with them every week.

Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

A day after I go on my monthly shopping spree in Brisbane (not quite) I get an offer for double bonus points or 12c fuel voucher for pend of $30+.

Not bad and should be able to get 300 bonus points on 50L fuel for spending $31....

I got the haven't seen you email for three weeks running. I used it each of the weeks.

Makes me wonder how far in advance the promos are worked out.

And here I was thinking I was special! :-|

Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

They sent me yesterday a key tag with a removable token that can be used instead of a gold coin to release a shopping trolley ...

The idea for the promo or the list of customers, as they are two separate things.

2-6 months for the earlier
3-6 weeks for the latter

I was thinking about the latter. The way my 'we haven't seen you' promos have been working suggested to me that the list of who was getting the offer occurred at least 3 weeks before the offer was sent. Seems consistent with what you are saying.

Well again that logic does not apply to me.

Would be lucky to spend $30-$35 a week at Woolworths and always scan my EDR card & pay with EDRCC.

(and a average weekly spend of BWS - $0, DSE - $0 & BIG W - $0)

Yet have offers flowing in quicker than i can use them (average 2.5 per month), to the point i really only do my shopping when there is an incentive (bonus points) to do so :D

Would love to know the logic though.

For the first time ever, I recieved an offer. It says Woolworths misses me, despite the fact I shop there at least once a week:

Did you check the card number for the email matches the card number you have? Maybe you've mixed up the cards.

They sent me yesterday a key tag with a removable token that can be used instead of a gold coin to release a shopping trolley ...

That's really nice of them! Luckily my local WW hasn't gone down that route yet.

No confusion there, the card number matches the card I use. Must just be a system glitch. I know a haven't shopped there for 4 days, but that hardly justifies a "We miss you Liam". :D

Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

I get so many offers, makes me really wonder why some get none... or very little...!

From the offers coming our way, it ain't random folks...! :)

Ok, here are the offers both Myself & Mrs Shintaro have received in the past 3 months
  • 22/3 - 2 offers
  • 28/3 - 2 offers
  • 3/4 - 1 offer
  • 4/4 - 1 offer
  • 11/4 - 2 offers
  • 18/4 - 2 offers
  • 27/4 - 2 offers
  • 2/5 - 2 offers
  • 9/5 - 1 offer
  • 23/5 - 1 offer
  • 30/5 - 2 offers
  • 31/5 - 1 offer
  • 6/6 - 1 offer
  • 20/6 - 2 offers (Quarterly Bonii offers)
  • 27/6 - 2 offers
As you can see from the above, this does not look random to me...!

Edit: However I was concerned with the dry period in the middle of May

2 points per dollar on Homebrand and Woolworths Select products, till Tuesday next week.

Offer for all EDR holders.

I'll be interested to see how many bonus points I get for that offer, as I'm fairly thrifty with my purchases, choosing home brand over big names a lot, but don't really know how much I spend… that and they're so cheap that double the points will still be hardly anything.

Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

I dont believe it has anything to do with the money you spend. No offers since 2/9/10 whether I use my card or not.
mrs.dr.ron had several offers late March-took advantage of them all and then nothing until last week.Spent up big and got all the bonii-so no offer this week.

The saying about how some people are extremely luckier than others still holds true.

As you can see from the above, this does not look random to me...!
So what is the criteria? Why are you getting all the attention while others like me get an offer once in a blue moon? By the way my family's weekly shopping bill is not insignificant. So if there is a pattern to it then I should be getting as many offers as you.

Edit: However I was concerned with the dry period in the middle of May
Rally? One week! The 16/5. And you are concerned.

Some people fall in the sewer and come up smelling roses.
Other people fall in the sewer and come up smelling lik.... err.... you know the rest....

Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

to me it seems strange to be getting so many offers compared to others on here, from here it does not look random, but looking at the whole group here we must be very, very lucky.

This makes me and perhaps others around here wonder why...?
perhaps its my location / local area / state...?
perhaps it is our spending habits...? Roughly $200 per week at the supermarket, $100 per month at Big W, $200 per month at Woolworths Liquor or BWS and around $500-$1000 per year on DSE

We also do NOT scan the barcode unless the purchase total is above the qualify spend for points / fuel discounts, so any small purchases Woolworths don't have linked to us... :p Perhaps doing this they only see bigger spending habits and could be "tricked" that I am very loyal with all the significant spend...

I wonder if there is a common link for those of you not getting bonii offers, do you all live in a similar area, state etc...? Do you have ISP's which incorrectly flag the offer emails as spam...?

There must be something up....?
