EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

There seems to be a definite pattern with the fuel offers today. The vouchers seem to be higher than the ones usually offered but they seem to have targeted people above their usual spending limits. Now I know that loyalty programs are designed to get the customer to spend more money, but EDR/QFF are usually more generous in their tiered offers. Usually the lower tier fits in with the normal spending pattern and the higher ones are an extension of the limits. I'm not sure I like this new type of offer. I'm glad we have a couple of household accounts so we can pick and choose what offer we want to take up. At least there appears to be a mixture of fuel offers and points offers. I think this is a good sign. Hopefully it will keep everyone happy.

I also received a fuel offer today, with a lower threshold than most - $80 spend for 16c or $120 for 20c. Useless to me as I do not own a car. I have pointed this out in feedback before. EDR records will also show that i have only used 1 fuel voucher in the last 4 months. Negative feedback sent and not activated.

Got it this morning too.

Didn't activate it. High spend.....

Excellent assessment Shintaro10x, you have convinced me to bypass the $200 EDR offer for max 1,220 points (170EDR +300AMEX +750FFP). Did the EpiQure $198 offer instead and picked up 2,594 points instead.

Thanks LW, yes when you do the numbers, some of these bonus offers don't really stack up, it pays to be prudent when reviewing and accepting some of these offers from EDR...

Well in spite of your calculations ( and good sense they make) LW. I am taking up the EDR $200.00 offer. My plan is to buy stuff for flood relief. So a tax break to me (as well as a helping hand) and as my fuel is ( like yours) also tax deductible. The whole exercise works on many levels for me. Having said that I suspect Mrs GPH has plans for more than $200.00 in spending for flood today.

Of the three bonus point offers I received the other week (beer, meat and triple points) only the beer offer has posted.

You are certainly right in that assessment.

It would be a waste of money for me to spend $198 on wine just for the bonus points. Firstly I do not drink wine and secondly I do not want to spend that much on any alcohol.

Now the fuel saving offers have become very boring but I do need some fuel every now and then. So makes sense to put all shopping for 1-2 weeks in the one basket and redeem the 30c fuel voucher for points. It is not like the ~$80 worth of petrol I am buying is wasted. I will spend that anyway. Why not get >1,000 QFF points for the privilege?

My email inbox is surprisingly empty and this thread quiet...(checks the calendar and muses "yes, this is a Sunday")

Do the bonus fuel offers take up to 7 days to appear in account? Spent $200.72 on Friday and only 8c fuel voucher is showing on account.

One week from end of promotion date. I'm guessing this is the promotion that ends today. Voucher should be there next Sunday. Sometimes they get credited on the Thursday or Friday but I've seen them later than this.

No emails on any household accounts yet. I'm guessing EDR have changed the timetable again.

Has anyone received their meat bonus points yet? By my calculations, today is 7 days after the end of promotion date.

I haven't received any bonus points from BIg W or Woolies - checked my account this morning.

No meat bonus points here yet, but I am still waiting on bonus points from a promotion in october!
