Egg tarts and Flowers. Portugal plus Chelsea.

For dinner we went to the bar and had our welcome drinks plus some snacks. We shared a carpaccio and garlic prawns which were good. I also had the anchovies which were not that good.

Then Mrsdrron finished with a dessert whilst I had a traditional prawn soup which was delicious.

The next morning and it was fog and drizzle but without the sun you could see the offshore islands.

We then drove to Sintra. The weather was the same so even if we did get to any of the sights there would be no views. The traffic was horrendous and on narrow winding roads up a mountain. We got to our first planned stop but were stopped by police and not allowed to enter. Only very small cars allowed into the property. We were directed down another road and had to find a park and walk back. There was quite a lot walking back. It was well over a Km when we found a park and the prospect of a 3Km return walk in the cold and rain did not seem like a good idea so we headed off to Cascais and the Sheraton. On the way stopped at Maccas for a coffee, tart and macaron.

Only 5 euros and the tart was as good as most.
Got to the Sheraton at about 1300 and our room was ready. Upgraded to a suite. No lounge here. Yet another residential and golf resort which would not be out of place on the Gold Coast.’

The everyday restaurant has a major problem in knowing what it’s doing. The menu is classic coffee shop but it thinks it is fine dining.
They start with an amuse Bouche. It was based on tuna and was quite good.

Mrsdrron had a club sandwich which was more than enough for her but was also very messy with too much mayonnaise.

I had the cerviche followed by a burrito bowl. Both nice.

Saturday and our last drive. Just a short distance to Lisbon. We drove along the coast and had frequent stops..

Notice the fishing rods above. Probably not surprisingly there was a rock climbing school.

I had stopped here because of a lighthouse. But it was behind large locked metal gates and surrounded by a high hedge so had to cross the road to get any picture.

From here it was straight to the IC arriving just after 1330 and again our room was ready plus we had been granted club access.
I then had to drive the car back to the nearest depot which was just 1 Km away. But nothing where google maps said it was. Finally stopped at a Department Store loading bay. The 3rd fellow called spoke English and the depot is in an underground car park with absolutely no signage. Finally got there and no problems from then.

I now had to walk back through a park to the IC. Always laugh to myself when I see displays of lantana.

I had checked in before I dropped the car back So now saw the room for the first time. A nice room on the 18th floor. They had given us club access so didn't need to select breakfast as an amenity. Got points plus drinks instead.
So to the room.
