EK Lounge General Discussion

That's kinda annoying as I imagine the QF lounges close shortly before QF155 departs around 23.15, so there's an hour or so gap before the EK lounge opens to accommodate EK405.
QF155 boards 11pm - but it has been removed from schedule from end of January - last QF flight then is QF95 (11pm?)

Wonder whether they'd still keep it open for JQ217?

ET just published this … assuming HND also will be ok?
The Qantas-Emirates lounge access agreement is not worldwide: it applies only to lounges in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. In addition, you can’t visit an Emirates lounge in Australia if you’re on a Qantas flight to a destination outside of that group, such to North America or South Africa.
I'm currently on an EK flight (in Economy) and was surprised lounge access at MEX was printed on my boarding pass with my QF number

Singapore Lonunge Current opentimes:
Afternoon opening time seems to have been pushed forward from previously.

I was at BKK earlier this week for the QF flight to SYD (in J). The Emirates lounge opened at 14:30 (14:00 previously), but was up to its usual high standard. In fact they had two different types of champagne for self pour, Moet (my preference) and Mumm.

I think that EK beats the QR lounge, which I find pretentious (my personal opinion), and I stayed in the EK lounge from opening until I had to leave for the SYD flight around 17:25. It was a good trip...

Is anyone familiar with the EK lounge in FRA or CDG

From earlier this month when I was in Auckland:
(On another note, the EK lounge was opened prior to 5pm. Not sure exactly when, but I observed it was open ~4:55pm.)
Here again - I noticed it was open 4:45pm, so on entry I asked.

To paraphrase "It opens 4:30pm - this will change with daylight saving"

I remember back in 2019 when the lounge in SIN ran out of champagne and offered white wine with lemonade as an alternative 🤣

I'll confess that I'm not 'that' frequent a flyer these days, but on trips to Europe from Australia have tended to fly Emirates.

(I gave up using Qantas as I can't use QF points to upgrade a QF flight as it's on an EK aircraft anyway.......)

On my last trip to Europe I got sick both ways. Throat/nasal infections etc.
I'm sure it was down to the EK lounge in Dubai.
Both times it was crammed full with people coughing and sneezing and a real 'bun flight' at the buffets.

I'd rather avoid the lounge altogether next time.

What's the public area like?
Any places to hang out that you would recommend?
Or maybe one of those 'generic' lounges (with fewer people) that I could use with a Qantas Gold membership?
Or happy to pay for access.

Any thoughts appreciated.
