Staying in the Hilton Surfers Paradise in a Sky residence with my family of 4 for one night next week. Just wanting to see if there had been any further updates/ experiences of Gold benefits to members. Am I able to expect breakfast as a benefit or is it still a no based on what I have read here.
Thanks for the update. Great to hear you got breaky for all and that they did give their little elite treat to you. That also is a maybe often reserved for special occasions although some (Princess Fiona, I'm glaring at you) seem to get it all the time!Room booked: 2 bed sky residence
Rate: prepaid with internet.
Received: No Upgrade but full breakfast for family of four, bottle of red wine and chocolates in room, newspaper, bottled water, early check in and late check out.
First stay at this property. Didn't mind the residence room but found all the public spaces underwhelming and very over populated. Felt a bit like a transit hub.
Enjoyed our dinner at Salt Grill, it was a high point of our stay but don't think Ill be rushing back to stay here. Much preferred our Easter stay at Sheraton Mirage. Better positioned for our purposes.

I have a two-night booking at HSP over this long weekend. The booking is for a Relaxation Room, but have checked on-line tonight to see that it is now showing as an Executive Room.
I have stayed previously in both the Hotel and the Residences and am pretty familiar with what's on offer there.
The hotel appears to be fully booked on the Saturday night and maybe I have been downgraded. I hope that it's somehow resolved before I check-in.

No change as yet, when I checked on-line this morning. Still showing as Executive. Will be arriving in about 4 hours time. Maybe I should go straight to the EL for check-in.
How? You need a key card for EL access. No change as yet, when I checked on-line this morning. Still showing as Executive. Will be arriving in about 4 hours time. Maybe I should go straight to the EL for check-in.
Maybe it is a terminology issue. By adding 'Executive' it is showing the lounge access but not the actual room type.Confined booking in Relaxation Room was made in August. I am carrying the confirmation with me.
Please say hello to the EL manager for me and also to the Operations Manager and GM if you see them. Thanks straitman. I took your advice and rang the hotel, who confirmed the Relaxation Room, as booked. Odd that it still showed as Executive right up until check-in, when it was showing Relaxation Room for the past six weeks.
Anyway, I'm in the Relaxation Room and it is in top shape as is the EL, contrary to some recent comments (very mixed reviews) that I've read on Tripadvisor.
I'm glad that I kept clear of the Residences. There is a massive crowd in the Lobby waiting for the Residences lifts.
For anyone who has not stayed at HSP, you can access L15 without a room key, and as you approach the EL entrance, the EL staff are sitting at the desk looking right at you, so access is not an issue under those circumstances.
Welcomed as diamond, offered choice of Salt or EL for breakfast. Two complimentary 750 ml waters, small fruit platter and welcome note from the GM, Chris Partridge.
Salt for dinner tonight.
Kristen is fabulous in the EL.
