I told my other half about it, she told me I wasn't the PA type as I don't like it when she tells me to do something. Sounds like a challenge to me.

Young, single, traveler...but in the middle of my law degree!

Good luck in your search!

Ha-ha.... It is fair to say I have NEVER had an op-up!! Maybe it because of the price I pay for my tickets??;)

Damn those $89 red-e-deals that we all know you are so fond of....

Not a chance!!

In my entire working life there would not be a single member of my staff who would ever say I have treated them in a disrespectful manner.

It's just not my thing.

The final 3 candidates will be interviewed by my current PA and I'm certain he will be very honest about the role.

I think the hardest part is the social life aspect.

Sounds like a great opportunity for someone but it is going to be so hard to fill.
Particularly the travel / organising/ away from home aspect.
Good luck bossreggie, it will be a long hunt.

I have two friends, either of which, would be very capable of doing the job, waiting to hear back if they are interested.

I can say it can be a very hard role as I have a few high wealth customers with PA's.

I would say it is not a 9 to 5 role as you could receive a call at a strange hour of the day and have to be mobilised and off somewhere else.

But the funniest thing I can say was I was having a meeting with one of them and one of his mates rang him and said do you want to go to India next week to watch a test cricket game.

The reply was OK just check with my PA but it should be fine.

A quick call from the PA and it was confirmed.

Spoke to him a few weeks later and said it was a great week away.

Hmm, probably have some of the skills and would love the flying pointy end and staying in grand hotels and even the business activities side of it sounds interesting, but my 6 year old wouldn't understand i don't think (and they only get one childhood) and not really feasible from Perth...

Its likely to be difficult and demanding, which isn't impossible in the short terms, but your current PA did well to last 7 years...

Good luck in your search!

Then this is your lifeline!

What a perfect opportunity to travel. I've always thought it was a shame that in most careers, when you're most able to travel (young) you're usually quite a few ranks away from it and when you reach the level of seniority that requires travel, youre more likely to already have a family and travel no longer becomes the guiltless pleasure it should be.

Maybe we could become a LinkedIn / Travel / Employment board......has some appeal.

Admin would appreciate the additional income I am sure?

Talked to the better half ! what about 200 days away I say? Great says she ! what about the kids ? there all grown up! or haven't you noticed:shock: Oh why didnt this come up before I was 60 LOL!

I'm all of these, except the degree...I've well and truely finished uni. Look forward to seeing the position description :)

Hi All.

I just want to assure you that I have read all your PM's and emails.

I'm incredibly busy over the next few weeks, but EVERYONE who has contacted me and expressed an interest, will receive the position description PRIOR to the role being advertised in the general press.

I'll be attending a couple of AFF events this week and if you are there please make yourself known to me.

As they are social events, I'm not really wanting to spend all my time on this.... However I guess it's an opportunity for us to at least have an informal chat.

I'd appreciate a PM from anyone interested in the role AND who will be at either BNE or MEL drinks. That would be preferable to just walking up and talking about the the opportunity.

Thanks for your interest.

Did you find a new PA bossreggie?

Not yet.

I have my recruitment company filtering the applicants down to the final few.

There is still a position description to be provided to the interested applicants.

Given my recent health issue, I have not given this top priority and my current PA has agreed to stay until April/May.

Boss

Bossreggie
tried to PM you without success, would appreciate one back if this vacancy still exists

Recent health issue? Hmm, does that mean an unemployed doctor might be a choice for travelling PA? Hmmm? My motorsport commitments will be largely finished by the first weekend in May... (V8 Supercars Perth, home of last year's firey excitement...) Interesting

Wow this sounds like an amazing opportunity.

Young, single, traveler...but in the middle of my law degree!

Well I'm young, single and fresh out of my (business) degree, graduation on Feb 11.

Eagerly awaiting for a position description. Hope there is still a chance for AFFer to get in :)
