Enhanced GHA DISCOVERY program, coming early Dec 2021

I have updated the Discovery app and my account is now showing Titanium until 31/12/22.
I'll definitely ensure I compete stays at 3 brands before then.

My past upgrades have always been very good.

Just noted that on the PGR website it still has the Discovery tie in advertised at the bottom of the homepage.

Without PGR there are certainly very limited options in Perth. Previously there was QT, Rydges, Pensione & Pan Pacific, now there is just the PP.

Yup, without QT (and to a lesser extent Rydges), the value to us of having status with Discovery has plummeted.

Well, you could go to Broome and stay at the Oaks

Just completed my first stay at an oaks property in Melbourne. Have to say was surprised staff could not see my status level and only when showed the card on the App did I get early checkin and they gave me a double upgrade. May be due to the next level not being available at the time.

My second booking is via the oaks website and again no status showing but they have added it to the booking. Will see how that goes early january.

Stay credited within 2 days with the new D$. On a $200 booking received around $15.

Competed a couple of stays since the roll over to new program at PP Melbourne as titanium, outstanding. Suite upgrades on both stays and they even took the time to confirm upgrades for the 2 stays i have in the new year to ensure upgrades to suites (booked basic king rooms). Having the rewards come back as dollars is an improvement to the program.

The lounge is still out of action apart from Saturday nights until the new year, however they do have a set up next to the restaurant for club rooms, i think this is around lack of staffing.

Anyone manage to ensure their GHA status was confirmed with PGR before the split? I think i missed the opportunity unless they are status matching, my PGR is showing as Gold.

Is this correct that these are all OR, and that it isn't "stay 10 nights AND (spend US$5K OR 2 brands)"? GHA recognises that I've stayed at 2 brands but I am only Gold.



Has anyone had one of these brands a stay at Rydges and so it may not have been counted?

Have you completed the 2 stays at 2 unique GHA brands? Odd that they use the term 'booked', which is not really in keeping with completed stays. Also, I don't think Rydges stays would count for this, as the brand exited the program ahead of it re-launching.

Yes, 2 stays at 2 different GHA brands with one being Rydges. Rydges does not count now either as the list of eligible brands as per the most current T&Cs.

I would rather if doesn't count then it just should say that I've stayed at 1 (eligible) brand rather than state I have stayed at 2 brands but then say ... I need to stay at 2 brands to get platinum. The display is misleading especially when I did spend money on both these stays but it says $0 spent! Was curious if others are seeing these anomalies.

Ahh yes, I see what you mean, now - they seem to have recognized Rydges as a brand for the booking/stay, but not crediting the status. Was the booking made prior to the changes?

Yep the bookings were a few months ago and before the changes and Rydges leaving so at the time of the stay it was an eligible brand. Seems the IT implementation hasn't been thought through that deeply. I'm wondering if I should spend time with an enquiry or I'm just going to be told that since Rydges is no longer an eligible brand then I don't get the status even though their website is telling me I qualify.

I am titanium as it carried over from PGR and showed 2 brands stayed. Which was Rydges and QT so showed 2/3 so when I stayed at oaks it now shows 3/3. But as I already am that level I don't know if it would count but it does show it as booked 3 brands now. The way I see it you have only the time to write an email to lose.

I was a black member and had 4 black rewards so have been bumped across to Titanium now as well till 12/22 with $800 discovery dollars.

I had previously used platinum local experiences for chauffeur transfers Pan Pacific Beijing and used black for a gourmet picnic hamper Pan Pacific Perth and had two free scenic helicopter rides in Sydney from different Sydney OAKS properties.

I was getting to the point I was struggling to redeem the local experiences as I was earning them faster than I could redeem. Like I book a property to redeem one with stay and then earn another local experience. Definately a good problem to have!

Will definitely make an effort in 2022 to stay at 3 brands. (OAKS in Port Douglas already booked plus probably Pan Pacific Perth and Avani in Adelaide as the other two.)

Was planning Atura ADL but that looks like that is gone along with Rydges.

Pan Pacific recognition has been amazing but OAKS very hit and miss. Rydges and QT very poor recognition, so it's a loss but not a huge loss at the same time as I ended up avoiding those two brands.

My journey with GHA started a few years ago when I needed to stay in Kalgoorlie for 9 nights. So joined them booked Rydges Kalgoorlie when they had double night stay credits (18 nights). Did Pan Pacific Beijing 5 nights on double night credits too so was very quickly at Black.

The Avani Broadbeach Gold Coast provided a very enjoyable Xmas stay. I hadn’t previously booked using my Discovery Black Titanium and wanted to test the likelihood of the promised double upgrade . . and was delighted to be automatically upgraded from a 1br, to 2br Ocean View - and the staff informed me at checkin without any query by me. The staff were awesome - efficient and warm & friendly, and genuinely caring. The upgrade provided exceptional value staying in a 2br unit that the published rack rate was double the price of the 1br which I had booked and paid.

FWIW, I tried to register for this promo but couldn't get it to work.

When I click through to the GHA website, it asks me to create an account - but I already have one and it won't let me log in. If I try logging in then going to the promo page, the link doesn't work.

My experience was similar. If I try logging in, or requesting a new password using my email, I got a message saying no account, but if I try to create one using same email it says already in use. I'd never enrolled, just started getting emails I presume because of PGR.

Anyway, there are so many hotel programs I have no interest in dealing with those that create It chinese walls. So I just unsubscribed from their emails.

I got D$50 as well. When I saw the promo that there were going to be 20,111 winners across the four prize value denominations I was pretty confident I would get a prize.

I did make a quite cheap booking in January at Pan Pacific Perth - but it didn't register as a stay in my account and the customer service at GHA to try chase it up were abysmal so guessing there was no extra entry there.

Fingers crossed OAKS Port Douglas know how to redeem D$ next month.........

I think you have the option at checkout to use it. I gather if you pay at checkin it is the same. Also is the $50 in US dollars.

I can't see anything either... also took a look at Manchester hotels on a 3rd party site and none of the brands seem to be present. Just a city anomaly perhaps?
