Enrich now offering points+pay option for flight redemptions

Enrich is now offering points + pay options for redemption tickets only.
Minimum number of points is 1000.
Redemptions are only for flights on MH.
No mileage earn on these tickets.

Any indication about how good this is? I assume this is not some kind of poor rate thing like Qantas Points+Pay or the newer Singapore Airlines Points+Pay.

Haven't had a look yet, so can't really say. I doubt it would provide really good value if you're only using a small amount of miles. It is probably only worth it if you're just short of the full amount of miles and can top up with cash.

From a quick test (on my account with 1000 points), it is indeed quite poor (a la QF points+pay). The conversion rate ended up being approx 3.3c/point.

ADL-xKUL-CDG in J of course

Classic: 51000 + $457.44 taxes

(I notice you can now easily see the taxes for an award right up front.)

Points + pay: 1000 + $1683.44

That's paying 2.452 cents per point. But still, you can open a new account (get 1000 points) and book a oneway flight to Europe for the above. I can't see how this will be sustainable, given how accessible it is. They might need to increase the minimum.

Is there a systematically organised information which states how many Enrich miles you need for a particular award on MH flights?

Apart from logging in and trying out redemptions / using the calculator, I can't find any such info. Yes I could be blind too, but this is doing my head in.

Also, I thought I read that MH redemptions are non-refundable (i.e. you fly what you booked or you lose everything). Can someone confirm or deny this please? Not that it affects the majority of us....

The cost of that sample J redemption appears to be, just off the top of my head, equal cost to redeeming an AAward by buying the miles (on special).

Anything Australia/Asia-Europe/US comes out as 51k i.e. 60k -15% online discount. The redemption numbers have fuzzy for a while, they used to have a chart but since no longer flying to South America xJNB.

It may be good for one-off bookings but I think AA is still the better choice, don't have to be limited to just MH flights

I spoke with the Enrich call centre who told me to do it via the website, i managed to login once and it gave me all my flights and food options. I tried it again yesterday and it no longer works.

Hopefully its just a temporary website glitch.

Hi, just joined the Enrich program and looking at booking J flights to Europe which seem pretty decent at 102000 points return+ taxes. This is via online booking. Does anyone know whether you can have a stop over at KL with online booking or do you have to call them? If so, is the points required much higher??

Stopover will require you to pay full 60k points one way (rather than 51k) and you have to do it via the callcentre as far as i know

Book the flight online and then call in. It will cost about USD60 to change the connecting flight date so you can do a stopover in KL.

Otherwise there used to be a few days a week that have 15 hour stopovers if you take the correct flight (although this was from LHR which is more expensive to depart from). It is worth looking at the weekly schedule from the city that you wish to depart from.
