Just flew per-Mel equipment change to 767 and delayed due to one toilet requiring fix. Halfway through flight only rear toilets working, all bus and middle toilets out of service. Long way from bus to rear toilets and 25 min lines. Wasn't an issue as only one movie on IFE so nothing else to do lol

At this rate you will be in the left hand seat (really up the front) soon

My PA said the same thing ;)

Mind you after a few Suv Blancs in the J lounge you might not want me in that seat ;)

Do I mention my seat change with VA? Had 3D on the 8pm flight. Flew ahead to 4pm and got moved the 3C!!! At least the CSA apologised, "I can only get you 3C". :D

Sent from the Throne

I had 2F (aisle) on an ex-EK 332 on DJ PER-MEL and a 738 was subbed in. 27 into 8 does not go, and I'm quite sure from overheard snatches of conversation that some pax were downgraded to Y. I was most pleased that 2F also existed on the 738, even if it was a window, and it was a bit of a Keystone Cops scenario actually ending up seated in it.

Has happened to me a few times but managed to get closer to front. At least you didn't have a middle seat.

18J or 12J? As a result i always select a J or K seat now, so if it changes i get a new seat assignment
Which is what I have been doing for a long time now. Only problem is when the 767 configuration is changed and there is no 25J.

I knew I selected 4/5C in Y for a reason.
At time of booking? You are good.

Speaking of equipment change, I flew MEL-PER Wednesday and then return PER-MEL Overnight (last week) flying J.
When at the time of booking it stated MEL-PER A330-300-(SKYBED) and return flight was A330-200 (international config). 18 front section and then 18 rear section. I thought this was great and when I turned up at MEL, there was VH-EBM-CLAIRE VALLEY, which is a domestic configuration. Gets even better, the return trip home, was on VH-EBN-TAMAR VALLEY. Also domestic configuration. Now... I wasnt too fussed with the MEL-PER because it was during the day. The ONLY time I would fly on the Red-Eye would be if I had a flat bed. I think its appaling that they charge the same $1500.00 for a Recaro Recliner compared to a Skybed which i can get at least 3 hours solid sleep on. Any thoughts

End of the day, the Recaro Recliner is the standard business class config for domestic. Sky beds really are a bonus for domestic routes.

Valid point. However, there a 2 flights which they have advertised to have Skybed seating and have failed in both of these. Also to be honest I think the Domestic Y seating is a very good seat in the A330 (any series), and is a great value at around $250.00. Wont pay $1500.00 for business with a seat that is harder and comes with a useless foot rest.....!!!! For people who travel this route regulary, its no wonder they are flying Virgins new A330's.
Anyway, thats my whinge for the day

Hmm

Having just posted that I hadn't been further back than the first row of why I just logged on to check in for my flight.

I was happy in 23D - well I was at least when I thought it was a 767 - seems like an equipment swap to a 737 and I have retained my 23D seat... I have been able to salvage 9D but I have to say that I am not overly happy that I was automatically punted back in the aircraft.

Have to say that I am not seeing much P1 love really...

I've had similar happen before and I was stuck in an 23B... worst. seat. on. the. plane. 100 types of sux.

Agree that status pax need to be taken care of first, because let's face it rows 4-22 are all vacant when a 767 -> 737 swap occurs. It's can't be too difficult to automatically take Gold and above and automatically re-allocate based on simple criteria QF knows about each passenger.

I just tweeted them about cough premium boarding - might tweet about this on Monday...

Where has QF advertised they are flying Skybeds between PER and MEL on a specific flight number?

The only advertising I have seen is in regards to the 581/582 having Skybeds.

If you are saying that QF have advertised by the Flight information on MMB or QF website, technically only the flight operated by the 333 would have the Skybeds as a given, as the QF site does not differentiate between International and Domestic 332's until after you have paid for the flight and you are selecting seats.

I think it is wrong that it is buyer beware.

And not just business class. I go out of my way to avoid 734's/738's and generally try to book 767's and hate it when the aircraft is swapped and then I cannot change flights to a 767 as my ticket price does not allow.

There needs to be a degree of Buyer Beware like there is for anything else.
