Just before I left the Vlounge, this QF plane was finally moved out of the way. The flight & cabin crew left the plane & the tug crew took over.

Looking from my plane VH-YIT towards VH-YIS at OOL. Plane #2 is almost fully boarded. Next stop MEL.

It started sunny.

ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1399610668.349238.jpg

It looks like a white oot.

I decided to get some sleep. The trolley hadn't even reached me in row 8. It seemed to take a while to get from row 3 to 6.

Almost time to turn off the phone prior to landing.

Flight report
OOL - MEL VA736
VH-YIT

Captain: David
CSM: Danielle

Welcome: Like my previous trip, I was welcomed back but no name.

OTR: Departed late but MEL arrival close enough to time.

Flight was smooth when I was awake.

Food: Wasn't awake for food this time. On the SYD - OOL flight, I was offerred banana bread. What am I, 6? Declined that & asked for a Coke. The FA was going to charge me for the Coke until she remembered I was on a Flexi.

A nice loop around including flying over a beach as we came in from the south.

My two planes today near each other. At the rear is VH-YFG (SYD - OOL) & in the foreground is VH-YIT (OOL - MEL).

Uh oh. It appears XFA is in MEL

Uh-oh indeed. I haven't seen Awful or Broken on Plane Finder or Flight Radar 24.

Excellent is heading PER - SYD.

Charming is going PER - BNE.

Great is in the early stages of PER - MEL.

That leaves Awful, Broken, Delightful, Fine or a 73.

23 minutes to boarding. I guess I'll find out shortly.

XFA operated VA694 PER-MEL which I assume is the aircraft operating your flight Erk.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!!

I hope you're wrong but you probably aren't.

9000 points to upgrade to J & I get Awful.

How bad can it be?

I guess I'll find out.

But I can't tell from these angles if I'm on Awful or Broken yet.

Not bad - until I spot the IFE....

The seat isn't bad in the standard position - this certainly beats Y though even if it is Awful of Broken.

See you in PER!

Hello from Awful from Perth.

Can now confirm that I was in VH-XFA thanks to Flight Radar 24.

ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1399636203.914629.jpg

Apart from the woeful IFE, it was a nice flight. Service & OTR was good.

HELLO PERTH!

In J, I was given an iPad to use. The seatback IFE failed during the safety demonstration & it took a while (20-30 minutes after take off) to come good (or as good as it gets on an outdated system).

ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1399637865.426051.jpg

Multiscreening on the seatback IFE (top) and iPad (below). iPad had 3 so not recent movies, a couple of comedy episodes. 3 documentaries & some audio.
