I'm booked Melbourne to Berlin economy return on Air Berlin. I've got Air Berlin flight numbers for the four sectors. The Melbourne to Abu Dhabi section is with Ethiad.

I've quoted my Qantas frequent flyer number.

Presumably, I will earn some points on the sector operated by Air Berlin (i.e. Abu Dhabi to Berlin).

But what about the Melbourne to Abu Dhabi sector operated by Ethiad?

BTW quoting my Qantas frequent flyer number was a bit of a problem. It didn't appear on the booking confirmation. I went on line and was given the option to enter it on line but the details would not be accepted. So I thought I would contact Air Berlin. The website "request" form doesn't allow for such inquiries and there is no email contact point listed. So, I called the "international" 24 hour number and after a wait of about 20 minutes I was connected to an operator who was able to assist.

AirBerlin flights with either ABxx_ or HGxx_ (Niki) flight numbers will earn points, and they recongise OW status for lounge access etc.

However, I do not believe that you will get anything for the code-share flights on Etihad, as the QFF rules state:

Qantas Points and Status Credits are earned on all eligible fare or booking classes, except on airberlin and airberlin affiliate codeshare flights operated by an airline other than Qantas or a oneworld® alliance airline.
