Does anyone know if you can mix and match first and business to Europe via AUH and pay only for what you use? ie business SYD to AUH and first points AUH to Europe
Yes you can. You'd pay 45k to get to AUH in J then 40k to get to Europe in F.

Au to europe is always 2 awards with the exception of QF through DXB as its one flight number
We use an Australian address without issue. This thread has piqued my interest as I slowly come around to the idea of buying points. I'm just about to sign for an Aadvantage account.... does it matter if I give an Australian address or are there any aadvantages to using a pseudo-US address?

Au to Europe via Middle east is 2 awards excl QF on one flight number; via Asia is fine as one.
I may be interpreting the award system wrong however...
I thought flying Au to Euro through KUL or HKG are also one award? eg. an exception for routing through Asia Zones 1 and 2 and you just use the normal awards chart for South Pacific through Europe.
I am unsure, but also possibly an exception for Doha if you are flying on only Qatar metal, but I have never tried this.

OK flight booked on EY using AA. Any ideas how to book seats on EY? Does it take a call to AA to obtain PNR?
I've just booked flights also (J class - Sydney - Paris in Aug 2015)Are you booked on the A380 scwappy?
Can i ask what PNR refers to? and also if anyone has suggestions for which seats (travelling as a couple) on A380 (difficult to know as it hasn't yet started flying from Aust and the seat maps are low res from what i can see online)

Booked on EY to MLE for Sept next year on the A380 to AUH which will be nice. Decided to save some money and just go with J on this occasion to avoid the need to purchase more points.
90k points and US$214.80 in taxes and booking fees (2 people).
