Hello all - being my 1st post here I guess I should introduce myself, I'm Steve.

I come for advice. I have been browsing the Etihad rewards shop with growing disappointment... Why? Well there is some seriously cool stuff available but, seemingly, not if your delivery address is in Australia!!!

Is it just me or am I missing something? I just cashed in Qantas FF Points Hardly Normal (Harvey Norman) vouchers and got myself a new dishwasher... Etihad... nothing... (well I could buy an ugly vase...)

Any tricks? Can I convert Ethiad points to something else (AMEX, Virgin, QFF?). Do I need to change my delivery address and get a mate to forward things to me?

The lameness of the reward availability is enough for me to never fly with Etihad (or at least use this program again)... Please help!!!

Kind regards,

Steve

Welcome to AFF drtribos.

I had a very similar problem a few months ago - I'd accrued 80k points from a couple of return trips to the UK, and knew that I wuoldn't fly with them anytime soon, so decided to get something from the reward shop.

Had my eye on a 32gb iPod Touch, but as you've found, it can't be delivered to Australia. I ended up getting it sent to my parents address in the UK and they forwarded it to me.

Worked for me!

Thanks 2muchplastic (by the way I know the feeling...)

Yeah, I'm on the phone to a mate in the UK now, will probably have to bribe him with some sort of gadget...

Cheers, S

As with all things, I guess it depends on what you like. I found a fair number of things recently in the Reward Shop that were attractive ways to spend miles and shippable to Australia.

Hi Aspro - yeah I take your point... I'm tempted by a few things on there. However - try logging on as a resident of the UK or UAE and you will see a lot more choice.

I'd rather have more choice and burn extra points on postage...
