Looks like the first non airline for Skyteam. No details revealed yet about if anything regarding mileage programs. With the direction EU is going, makes sense for them to start integrating more rail services.

SkyTeam might need to rename their Alliance to something like “SkyandGroundTeam”. Unless of course Eurostar now has trains that fly? Can’t remember seeing that upsell option upon checkout 😀

Seems to be a growing trend. LH has been selling “flights” that are DB trains for years and now DB is a *A partner?

I recall AF having something similar which has led to this closer tie up?

Will we get Amtrak in OW… Or CountryLink XPTs….😂

Star has had Deutsche Bahn as an intermodal partner for some years now, natural given where the LH group hubs are all located (https://www.staralliance.com/en/intermodal-travel)

Eurostar makes sense for Skyteam given the LHR-CDG-AMS hub triangle which VS, AF and KL form.

OW's European hubs are too distributed on the fringes of the continent (LHR, MAD, HEL) for them to have a natural intermodal partner in Europe which can serve multiple hubs.

ES has overtaken France and Germany (and Japan) for HSR networks and they do already do Fly/Train combos.

So, not entirely off the cards - despite, being on the fringe.
Yeah I was thinking more of rail companies that connect to multiple alliance hubs like DB does for Star (FRA and MUC) and Eurostar will for SkyTeam (AMS, CDG, LHR).

The only ones I could think of that would achieve that for OW would be Japan Rail Group for the JL hubs or Amtrak in the US.

Does the Iberia rail link allow you to earn point / status?
