Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

I work for a large company (10k+ employees) and have been here for 7 years, so i'm wondering if they have an agreement or process that makes it easier to validate employees of large companies.

I too got the card no ID required. Apparently if all the info you put into the form is exact enough to the info on your credit file, they have no problems issuing it without ID (providing it's all very accurate).

I have no idea but mines just fine:)

Mmm, yes, its easy to believe there might be, except these days they would surely stumble over the fairly strict privacy laws here in Aus...? Maybe not, I've no idea. Seems strange that no-one even called me to see if I was a real person or not.

Anyway, I'm a happy camper - presumably the 16K free points will wing their way to my account in the next 8 weeks or so (end of the promotion?)

That's why i applied - I just looked at it as an $89 PER-SYD J Upgrade. Good value really. :)

That said, it'll probably replace my ANZ Qantas Gold Visa (1 for 1 points) unless they waive the fee again ($150 and due in a few months)

Has anyone tried making a card payment at Woolworths? I wonder if it is easy enough to do so and if I need to show them my statement.

I'm trying to pay off my account in full ASAP as I've been hit with interest charge eventhough I have got no outstanding unpaid purchases beyond 55 days (my account balance was zero mid-month and I have not taken any cash advance. I suspect that one of my purchases has been treated as a cash advance by HSBC. Will call to check on Monday.

Is there a specific reason why you want to make payment in-store?

Given that most WW staff members are totally oblivious to the existence of EDRCC or even the fact that the EDR card can now been replaced by EDRCC - I would doubt that any WW staff member could assist you in-store - but I might be wrong.

When I tried making a BPay payment yesterday, CBA internet banking rejected the request saying that the biller code is invalid. I then tried the same with NAB and it rejected the payment request saying that the customer reference number is invalid. I'm not sure if there is an IT glitch due to the Queenland floods.

Oh ok - I did kinda think there must be some specific reason.

I have made only 1 x $15 purchase on EDRCC - paid off total incl $89af via BPAY as soon as statement issued so can't really cooment further.

My payments have been accepted OK although after two days they haven't shown up on the card site (typical delay - Amex is the same). Biller code was 17574.

After making those payments I got an email from EDR saying the biller code was 017574. Don't know if the leading zero makes a difference. I've never seen a biller code with a leading zero previously.

When did you last make the payment? My first payment went through OK last month. It's only last night and today that it can't go through. I got the following error message:

The Biller Code recorded for this Bill is not correct or the biller has withdrawn from the BPAY service. Please check the number against your Bill and re-register the Bill with the correct number or contact your biller.

well I can......I made my first payment instore as my dd for the full balance each month was not setup in time.......it was a little painful as only one staff member knew what to do but was relatively quick...

I haven't had any issues paying this card via BPay using the Biller code without the preceding '0', other than the length of time it takes through BPay. I make my payments from an ANZ account.

Has anyone who has paid this card over the counter had any better experiences with respect to the time it has taken for the payment to hit the credit card?

Its the same for the prepaid card, 4 BUSINESS days to reload via BPAY

What is the problem with the time taken for the payment ? I just made my first statement payment which was due on the 13th. As per normal I scheduled the BPay for that date. While the payment didnt show up until today on the website it was still dated the 13th as required under BPay rules (BPAY Q and A - BPAY). Just need to make sure it is processed by your bank on the last business day (eg this month my Amex is due on Sunday, so paid Friday).

Richard.

Four days is pathetic. I guess I'm spoilt with Commonwealth Netbank - payments show up instantly. I know what Mrs Plinge has spent before she gets home with the shopping.

Where did four days come from ? My example had the payment showing in the receiving account less than two days.

All credit card accounts I have instantly update the available credit as soon as the transaction is processed but the actual transaction details usually take a day or two to post. HSBC do seem to be consistently slower in this regard however.

EFTPOS and bank transfers of course are a different matter.

My issue isn't that the payment takes longer than expected, more that using BPay as a payment mechanism for a credit card means that you need to wait until the payment becomes 'cleared funds' before you are able to use them.

I have moved to the Woolworths EDRCC from and ANZ Qantas Visa / Amex combo where I was able to make a payment directly into the credit card from an ANZ account and in both instances have moved my credit limit down to the minimum so that I can load the cardup if I need to pay for anything larger than the limit.

From that point of view I'm looking at whichever mechanism allows funds to be cleared as quickly as possible, hence my question.

That's fair enough I guess if operating that way is important to you. On reflection it is a very long time since I've had a credit card from the same institution as the bank from which I pay it so to me its "normal" for payments to take a day or two to appear.

Not that I think there is anything "wrong" about wanting a low limit then loading into credit for large purchases - I think people should go with what they feel most comfortable. For me I'm happy with (quite) large limits for the rare occasions they're needed. For example, sometimes a large transaction may not remove the authorisation done for it which then takes a week to expire.

So far I'm very happy with the card, the only real annoyance being the inability to schedule a BPay payment for a future date (unless I've missed it somewhere).

Richard.

Yes, it is a real shame, I miss that feature too :p

With what I've seen of the application process, lack of understanding of the product from Woolworths employees, online banking etc, it really appears to me that the product (WWEDRCC) is really a work in progress.

Perhaps they had forewarning of something Coles is coming up in the same space?

Hopefully within a few months we should see them come good on a few nw features such as scheduled BPay and hopefully their second cardholder application form on the web site :-)
