Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

That's a question for you to answer. ;) It's costing 5 cents for each point. But then if it's a case of bumping up points balance quicker it could be worthwhile.

I've decided to give up my 3 MR points per dollar to get the double points.

I think saving is slightly better value, I value points at around 3 cents a pop used in the premium (J) cabin, so paying 5 cents a point is only valuable for those who desperatly need points, or are using points for F redemptions...

Not sure about "bumping up points balance quicker" considering the T&C's with the offer...

Allow up to 8 weeks after 2 December 2013, for receipt of your bonus points to appear on your credit card statement, at which time your credit card account must be current and not in arrears.

I can earn 3 points per dollar on an AmEx EDGE, so these offers don't interest me particularly.

Unfortunately the golden era of buying WISH cards on a Woolworths Merchant (at the 5% discount, and earning 3 pts per dollar) are over.

For me: The option is 3pts per dollar, or 1.5pts per dollar and a 5% discount... This implies that the additional points "cost" 3.33 cents per point. There is better value out there, so I take the gift cards. Also useful at Dan Murphys...

That said, I think the EDR MC is still a good card card for "other things"

Just got a joke of an "Overseas Transaction Charge on this card..

Yes that's right.... Charged an Overseas Transaction when I claimed back the GST from an Australian Government desk at Sydney Airport.
All because they use a Swedish company to do their processing..

That looks like a credit not a charge - it says "overseas transaction charge refund". That means they are treating it as an overseas reversal so you might actually be getting more back because they've assumed it is a reversal for something where you've been charged the fee on the original purchase. They can't seem to tell when a refund doesn't relate to a previous charge.

Yup. Its a credit. Ive had credits for the same. Nice bonus! Moa999 ought to re read his statement

Hi All

I am thinking about signing up for this card, with the 16k bonus points on offer and $89.

Regards

This is a direct sweep card, you get free membership to QFF when applying for this card. Your points get "swept" to QFF every month, there is no option to "warehouse" points or transfer to another program.

It's quite a good card IMO

I recently signed up for one of these cards and am kinda disappointed that I did. Website is an absolute pain to use. Convoluted 3 step log in. No option to sched regular payments etc. Coming from the commonwealth bank which has an excellent netbank website, very basic reporting options etc.
I am finding the basic functions of the Woolies website very frustrating.

Anyone else feel this way? I wonder if Woolies have any plans to upgrade their website or produce an app.

of course, the website is awful. it's $89/year for a QFF card, though, which is why people put up with it in the past. in a $0/year-for-life Citi Signature world, there's little reason to get this card, though.

Yes, the website sucks. I don't mind the multi-step login so much, but the inability to export transactions to a CSV file is the thing I find most annoying personally.

My chief annoyance is the lack of a description for past payees. It shows the BSB and account number but no description and a list of accounts is just confusing if you're trying to make a subsequent payment.

Just wondering, perhaps the HSBC card has a better interface for a similar price...? if you can flog off the QP passes that is

Hardly worth it given this month's promo is 5% off Wish Cards...

DeKa... Never underestimate the value of a QFF point before July 1st..... Masa anyone lol ;-)

Also for me... EVERY month is 5% off Wish Cards lol lol lol

It seems you have taken up the RAA gift card idea at a higher level than most shintaro10x. Tax free savings are a favourite for many but in the Woolies checkout queue I have not ever had someone use a 5% off gift card either in front or behind me. I guess that means very few members of the RAA or RACWA read their magazine. Word of mouth works best it seems.
I do 5% off Coles cards for the olds as a helper for them.
I use my trusty EDRCC for both to give their tracking system a buzz.

Cove... as discussed last week, I have a stack put away for me at my local RAA each month. Since first meeting you a few years ago I think I've purchased close to $50k in cards... the saving on fuel and dan Murphys along with supermarket savings make this a wonderful thing cove....

Hmm, very intriguing. This might just be the best post I have read in quite some time. Seems definitely worthy of further investigation.
Cove & Shintaro10x, you guys are an inspiration!

OK, I was actually reading reviews of that on the web and it gets some mixed reviews. If you're happy with it though that gives me confidence to try it out. Thanks shintaro10x
