Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

How can you compare an Earth Black card ($395 p.a) with a QEDRCC ($89 p.a)...?

Sure you don't like the QEDRCC, you have made your point, but I disagree with your logic... a 1:1 "unlimited" Mastercard at $89 per annum you have to expect some small issues, but generally this is a easy card to keep IMHO

I was comparing it with the Earth Platinum if you see what I quoted.

Ok. Sorry I thought this thread was about the everyday rewards qantas credit card... earth platinum vs earth black not really relevant since both are much pricier and should be discussed elsewhere ;-)

Would you feel the same way if you had an Earth Black?
My WW card barely gets used almost all my spend goes on my Altitude Black Amex or Amex Plat Edge.

One is 1pp$ v 1.5pp$

One also has travel insurance

There is also a $310 annual difference

I don't use my CC enough to warrant the $395 price tag.

WOW EDR CC is fine for me. New one coming in Jan, and I hope it comes fast, as the laminate has really worn out on my current one.

My question was in response to this:
I think that this card is great. I have pretty much stopped using my Westpac Earth Plat card, and will cease that card very soon.
Would OW+2 be getting rid of the Earth Plat card if it was an Earth Black? 1ppd to QF Amex is pointless when you can have a 1ppd MC for $89 but if it was 1.5ppd (Earth Black) would he still get rid of it?

And that answers the question! :)

For me... Based on my 2.5c/point valuation of FF points I'd need to spend approx. $16.5K to justify the cost of my Altitude Black (marginal cost on top of WW EDR Qantas fee). I put through that roughly bi-monthly so it's a no brainer.

Bajillions of points is an interesting concept. I did run into a young lady who had 13 million points when I was in the USA.

If you ever see her again please tell her to:
1. Marry me; and
2. Become acquainted with family transfers ;)

Gift card time.... For Xmas!

I would say not according to the full T&C's

And you cannot use discounted Woolies Gift cards.....you must pay with EDRCC!

Time to use your new shiny silver "aka fake Platinum" one cove...! (but don't use it too much other it will delaminate like the orange ones did )

I have a land tax bill that makes my eyes water and it is due in one month.
The EDRCC is a card I use a lot for retail stuff and I even have Mrscove using it today at Ikea.
I really hope I don't have to go back there any time soon....finding the exit is like going thru a maze.

Up the stairs, turn left, through the food hall, down stairs to self serve area. I hate going to ikea with a passion.

The least I could do was pay with the EDRCC and get out before the crowd swelled in Ikea.

Ikea - how to chew up a whole weekend with one store visit - one day shopping, the next day assembling.
My wife has dragged me into the store only once which isn't bad for 29 years of marriage.

Decisions, decisions... Use Discounted wish cards for 5% saving at WOW chain of outlets, or use QEDRCC for double points offer between 19/11 to 2/12...?

At least the targeted voucher I received in the snail mail for triple points at big W for >$30 purchase (multiple use between 28/11 & 11/12 ;)) is an easy decision to use those discounted wish cards on for the 5% kicker

For $100 -> $5 versus 105 points (200-95 earned buying the gift card). Both purchases get the 70 points for swiping edr card.

Is an extra 100 QFF worth more than $5 saving...? Thats the question Medhead...

That's a question for you to answer. ;) It's costing 5 cents for each point. But then if it's a case of bumping up points balance quicker it could be worthwhile.

I've decided to give up my 3 MR points per dollar to get the double points.
