I just had my card suspended due to someone putting through an $1800 order online at The Good Guys. As I'm in London and have never bought a single item from that store that was probably a good call

Agreed, though it inconvenient I've been saved from CC fraud twice, I'd rather be inconvenienced occasionally than be defrauded.

As long as a bank / cc provider makws phone contact with me before suspending a transaction, all is well.

When they dont even ring you, would make me cranky. Especially if YES you did make the purchase(s) and did inform them you were going away or often make large transacrions (travel agent, furniture, deposits for car or house....)

As I'm in LHR they rang Shrek as soon as the hold had been put on the card.
He said words to the effect of PF hasn't ever shopped at The Good Guys and he emailed me to call them.
5 minutes on Skype and a new card is on its way.
Fortunately I travel with a heap of plastic so the trip to the Chanel boutique at T3 is still on  :p

My card stopped after a visit to Linneys but after I called them it has worked ok ever since. This card is now quite worn on the edges as I use it for most day to day shopping to get a point a dollar.

My card has delaminated badly and the pay pass no longer works. Like you cove it gets daily use so I guess its done well actually to last this long...

I also had them refuse to allow transactions with Agoda. They said they blocked them as I had never purchased from Agoda before (with the card) so presumably that means I never can!?

My 28 degrees card was defrauded the day before our overseas trip and I was called in the QP waiting to catch the flight. A new card was waiting for me in Paris four days later that included a weekend!

And my card still doesn't work after being suspended last week, despite having called last week and been promised it has now all been resolved. Arrrrrrrrr :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Is the second card free?
Can you get a companion card(as above)?
Thinking of replacing CBA Plat due to recent letter saying will have to pay $250 + $50 companion card to this card.
So $89 for two cards linked to same QFF right?

In 2008 my virgin card was refused in Florence. Luckily I had additional cards but when I looked into it it was a purchase on "trentitalia" that triggered the suspension. I never go overseas now without advising my cc companies.

I've just booked some train tickets as well. I tried to book 2 separate sectors ... 1st one was ok but 2nd was blocked (even after verifying the M/C secure code SMS thing).
After speaking with the call centre apparently fraud is high with train tickets. Fraudsters buy them, travel relatively 'soon' then by the time fraud is detected the offender is long gone as no ID is needed for the travel. And some of the 1st class fares can be expensive.

I applied for a second card for Mrs Plinge but after getting the documents abandoned the idea. Unlike my other cards for WEDR the second card holder has to have his or her own Qantas Frequent Flyer account. You can't direct points to a single QFF account. I then suspected that the second card would result in a second statements to be reconciled.

Problem solved by giving Mrs Plinge my card. She does most of the store-based shopping while I'm mostly BPAY and on-line. The arrangement works OK.

And while I'm here I'll just point out for the umpteenth time what a pathetic website WEDR has. Every single time I use it I am highly annoyed.

I went through the process, it was pretty painless in my opinion

Unlike my other cards for WEDR the second card holder has to have his or her own Qantas Frequent Flyer account.
I assume that they really only need to be an existing EDR member, and in most cases an EDR member will have their account linked to QFF, however I believe that they only use the EDR member number in the application, since this is required for the Barcode which is on the back of the credit card. When this barcode is scanned the points from the EDR earn is directed to the second card holder.

You can't direct points to a single QFF account.
The credit card points go to the primary card holder (original applicant) it's only the EDR "Standard & Bonus" points which go to the second card holder

I then suspected that the second card would result in a second statements to be reconciled.
Transactions from both cards appear on the same single statement, transactions are identified by the last 4 digits of the card number from memory, Primary & secondary cards have unique card numbers so it is easy to reconcile what transaction was on what card.

Agreed, horrible site, but for a 1:1 earning Master Card for under $90 p.a its hard to expect too much.

For those that are interested, here is a link to the application for the additional card holder https://creditcard.everydayrewards.com.au/pdf/AdditionalCardholder.pdf
