Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

I've had the everyday reward card linked to my qantas account for years and have just received the EDR credit card after applying through the 20,000 bonus link here. So, using the credit card I assume I don't continue to swipe the original reward card for Q points?

you do indeed need to scan your EDR card to get those points, paying on this credit card just gets you points for the *purchase price*.

Correct, however worth pointing out that your EDR *rewards* card is printed on the back of your credit card, meaning you need to scan and then swipe/chip/tap but won't need to carry two cards

Has anyone got their card replaced?

Mine is starting to show some serious 'wear and tear'

The "pay-pass" function doesn't work 90% of the time and most of the plastic on the front is starting to peel off.

Question is, can they replace the card, with the same number? It's such a pain to go through automatic debts (etc etc etc) for a new card.

Yes -- I had mine replaced after I complained that it wasn't working at Woolworths Petrol pumps. The serviceman said there was nothing wrong with the pump card readers and I should ask for a replacement card. I did -- and problem solved.

My card has been delaminating for a while now, the chip has a lot of wear on it, and the pay-pass only works "sometimes" and only when the card is turned so the front of the card faces the reader. Mrs Shintaros card was replaced because on her card the CCV number on the back wore off...

I am always amazed when I get a new card how long the validity dates are, it is not reasonable for the way I use my cards to expect them to last 4 years, I have had the QEDRMC for over 3 years, but it is really shagged...

I have had to resign the card at least 3 times now since the signature wears off quickly

First world problem I guess...

Had to replace mine earlier this year after the paywave stopped working.

Yes, just checked and its there. So it's a swipe and flip then. :)

My paywave never works now. I see it as a bit of security as if I loose the card, at least the pay wave won't work. It's not much of an imposition having to key in the pin.

I have finally received my card, and the colour looks quite nice. They have changed to silver from poor orange. It seems their internet banking has very limited functions, you can do the Bpay but not schedule it.

Some like me actually like the old skool orange

Personally the Silver / Grey card is not me...

Well, that silver actually is not cheap silver, it more looks like platinum with shiny. However, in their latest brochure, they still put orange colour in it without "PLATINUM", I think WWS might launch a secondary QFF card with lower annual fee.

I like the orange, but love the cheap ATO points even more ;)

I seem to recall that some even got a "bonus" 1,000 points on top of the sign on bonus simply because they were given the silver card

Yep I was given this bonus when I was issued a silver card (one of the first apparently) a year or so ago.

So was I. I had to get a new card as I wore out the chip. Thanks for all the QFF points I say (including the bonus 1000 for getting a new silver card).

Read my previous posts and you will see it is possible if you are not too greedy

re charging ATO/BAS to the card as I recall the poster who has his card cancelled charged a very large amount of BAS to it. I charge BAS/PAYG but it's about $20,000 a quarter and I split it over 4 payments (due to having a low limit). Haven't had a problem thus far. I do make an effort to charge every small little item to the card I can, e.g., the paper, single purchases from the supermarket, and so on. Result -- large number of small transactions keeping the average charge amount lower.

Yes I agree with you Walter. I give the EDRCC a good bite of our Australian personal costs to be fair. I have a $25,000 limit which was increased from the starting number and I regularly top the card up during the month if we have some large personal stuff to pay.
