Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

Wife received the complicated 8 week offer of spend $145/week for 8 weeks and earn 24000 bonus points.

This is a measly 10% discount compared to some of the offers received by others. Yes I am grateful but my $145/week spend is bigger target than someone's $90/week target yet we receive the same net discount. Makes no sense.

I thought the reward would have been bigger for a $145 per week spend. The combined total of 24,000 point offers started at around a $65 target so I understand your reaction to the percentage return issue.

Me too but it makes no sense when they are offering identical reward for $90 spend.

Just received a "Triple Points on every shop" offer until Tuesday 25 April (assume it's targeted as I had to activate the offer). Excuse me while I try to contain my excitement **yawn**

Received same offer on 3/5 of my accounts.

It actually makes a lot of sense for Woolies! :p

But seriously, these "targeted offers" are designed in a way to obviously make customers feel special and increase sales/profits at the same time, classic marketing 101. I know there are a bunch of folks here on this forum or others like it who track these offers and know which ones are actually of good value, but then think about Woolies customer base which is like 1000's x times that of people on forums who would be feeling extra special! ;)

Do you have links to other forums who compare this information. They might have more information of the offers which are out there. I love comparing the offers and figuring out ways of adjusting our spending so that our family gets really good offers.

Finally I seem to be selected for a targeted multi buy offer:cool:

It's a good thing that I am quite partial to the odd potato chip!

Already tried the offer and collected 1600 points for 4 packets this morning.

I don't feel very special when one week thery are offering 15%-20% loyalty discount and the next week they are only offering 9% loyalty discount.

Plus offering one person the same reward for $90 spend as a person would earn spending $145 is not very clever marketing. Surely they realise that family members or friends talk to each other?

Neither is offers with target spends 3+x more what the targeted shopper spends.
Aiming target spends slightly above what that shopper normally spends would be clever marketing. Aiming for spends far in excess of what they ever spend is just stupid.

looking at my normal spend, $5-7 per work day (lunch) with $20-30 once or twice a fortnight, setting a target single transaction spend of $35-40 is sensible. Asking for over $110 is insane.

Interesting - first data point (for me) with an under 18 targeted offer :

Surely they realise that family members or friends talk to each other?

My family and friends certainly aren't interested in discussing the split targeting of woolworths offers over dinner. The number of times i've tried...

I think we go a bit further here on AFF than most, but surely they realise forums and OzB exist

$120 spend for 1800 points for 2 weeks. I doubt I will activate since the return is only 7.5%. Still no link to click to tell them I don't like their offer.

I also have the 10x points at BWS.
