Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

Did anyone else get the 8 week offer but for $160 spend? I've just noticed I have 'mega point boost' for a third week activated on my card, but received no info on the offer at all, so don't know what I'm aiming for (i.e. if there's an additional bonus at Week 4, like it was suggested in previous posts in this thread).

These offers were physical mail out info sheets and didn't need to be activated on the card or have a coupon scanned at the register. I don't know what the points schedule is for the $160 offers. There is a reward after every second week and if you spend the total for the first 4 weeks there is an extra points reward which is the same as the reward for the individual 2 week segments of the offer. I'm guessing something has been lost in the mail, thrown away in error or Woolworths Rewards don't have your correct street address for some reason.

Some of the street addresses got mixed up when they originally transferred all the data over from Everyday Rewards to Woolworths rewards and other mix ups may have happened since. I suggest logging into your account and checking what details Woolworths Rewards have for you.

For the $80 target the reward was 4000 points for each nominated timeframe for a total of 24.000 points for the whole period. I think the $160 target has a 5000 reward for each segment for a total of 30,000 points.

For example, 5000 points is paid if you spend the target in weeks 1 and 2. If you also spend the target in weeks 3 and 4 you get another 5000 points. If you have spent the target in each of the weeks 1,2,3 and 4 you also get an additional 5000 points at the end of week 4. This pattern continues in weeks 5,6,7 and 8.

The points rewards didn't increase very much when the targets increased. I think there was a post here which said that the $145 target was the same amount of points as the $80 target (which was 24,000 points total). I'm taking a guess that the $160 target has a 5000 point reward. I haven't looked back at all the posts here. There are more figures on the Woolworths Rewards facebook page but I don't have access to that at the moment. Many people were upset that the proportion of points to spending target wasn't very fair or a comparable proportion.

Week 3 started today, Monday 24 April.

Sorry for the long post.

Just been on on-chat chasing another bonus which didn't post to my account. The second in two weeks, both from back in March. I haven't always been diligent in recording bonuses offered and whether they've been received, so this is the kick up the derriere I needed. Total I'd have missed out on was over 10,000 pts.

This is perfect, thank you! $160 has the same rewards I'm assuming for me (I got 4,000 points last week for meeting weeks 1 and 2). Much appreciated. :)

Finally I seem to be selected for a targeted multi buy offer:cool:

It's a good thing that I am quite partial to the odd potato chip!

Already tried the offer and collected 1600 points for 4 packets this morning.

I got this offer too - got into Woolies though and had a crisis when I saw that Kettle Chips were 40% off (about $2.50) vs $4.40 or so for the Tyrrells ... so bought the Kettle as I didn't want WW to 'trick me' into spending more. Then got home and thought better of it ... so bought two packets of Tyrrells today. Talk about overthinking things ... they managed to get me buy double the chips I normally would ... and didn't even take full advantage of the points I could have!

By the way, do you think they track and/or correlate CC/debit card activity with reward card use - ie will they know I'm still spending there and just not scanning my rewards card? If so, it might be a reason that stopping reward card use doesn't improve offers (in some cases)??

great post - not sure if I should like it or unlike it Staubs..

I've heard various theories of whether they are tracking this type of data or not. I don't know the answer. Are they tracking my wish cards wondering why I use various Woolworths Rewards cards but the same Wish card?

So far, I am up to 11 packs of Tyrrells chips - I figure that's about a six week supply at our place (as long as the kids don't find where I have stashed them!)

Expensive? Yes, but not so bad when it is for product that you would have purchased regardless.

Each pack is costing me $1.99 more than I would usually pay but the chips are better and 400 WWR points for that price works out at 2 cents a point if you follow my line of reasoning ;)

Converted to QFF points it works out to 174 QFF points for my additional $1.99 spend per bag of chips and at that rate it works out far cheaper than buying points from AA or Alaska etc. :D

As for tracking credit cards - the answer is yes to anything that has a number, chip or barcode on it, wherever the card or account number is used. When aggregated with the data from a rewards program such as Flybuys or WWR it is an absolute gold mine of data for the merchant and the card provider.

The flip side is earning reward points.

If you don't want to be tracked to that extent than cash is always the answer (from an ATM or bank in a different location).

Good analysis - I don't mind being tracked - it's the price you pay for the program. Just interested in the process ...
It is a good points deal for something you buy anyway. I guess that probably comes into it - eg I see some have been offered chocolate deals ... maybe a deal in conjunction with the specific brand to promote it. I wonder if that's mostly offered at chocolate buyers to try another brand. Whereas we don't buy chocolate but we almost always buy Kettle or Red rock chips ... and not usually, if ever, Tyrrells.

Do you have links to other forums who compare this information. They might have more information of the offers which are out there. I love comparing the offers and figuring out ways of adjusting our spending so that our family gets really good offers.

Ah well, I don't know of any other forums for WW in particular other than OzBargain, which has already been pointed out earlier.

IN the interests of making them work hard - I use several wish cards at a time. Simply marked 1,2,3,4 and they correspond to the different family accounts. As I know what offer is being used I only take out those cards plus the next best offer cards so if I beat the required spend I split the bill into a 2nd account.

Across W and C last weekend one came to a disgraceful $40.21 and the other $50.13 respectively. My better half holds the record of exact spend and 3 cents over one week! We're not competitive.

400 points for 134g Pringles.
first time I have ever had this type of offer. "so when you pick up your Pringles take home a couple of extra packs and make it a party. You'll earn 400 bonus points for every purchase from the selected Pringles offer"
Don't normally purchase chips (don't go down that isle at all during a normal shop) Wonder why Pringles got the pick.

Same offer. Selling for $4 each with $2 discount they are half price. They used to be on sale at half price for $2 in the past but didn't need to activate any offers.

..but the cylinder size used to be 185 grams.

Pet peeve - CCs stuck out at 250 grams whilst Doritos (and all chip makers) went to 175g for over a year. Either CC's sales did not lift by enough or they just decided they'd built their market share enough as they then lowered the packet size in 3 steps down to 175g.

Have you noticed that the 'special flavour' limited edition runs go as low as 140g for the chips and corn chips now?

If I'm going to be bad - I don't really want to eat 2 bags worth to get the same as it used to be...

So in the last year they launched the 280g (or so) large size packs. At a suitably inflated price...

600 points for a Michelle Bridges Ready Meal - can only be redeemed once.
I got that as well.
Promptly ignored.

They might get better chances of my actually accepting an offer if it even remotely on a product I have any likelihood of buying or a spend I have any chance of meeting.
The vast majority of offers they send me are utterly pathetic.

Another stupid thing they have done is the whole $10/kg legs of lamb everyday price. Since that came in I've not bought a single leg from woolies as I'd only ever buy it on special at below $9/kg, which was very regular.
