Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

I don’t seem to get any spend $ for x points anymore. Not sure why
I haven't gotten any in say, 6 months or more. But I still get them from Coles consistently, always 10,000 points over four weeks and the spend target is relatively low ($70 when I spend around $120-180 each week). It's working, I rarely shop at Woolies now.

Well, WW CEO just sent out an email saying he wants people to 'spend less' at WW this spring. Hope it doesn't impact the spend target offers...

Noting this too:

As well as earning points as you shop, you can now also access in-store Member Prices. You'll be able to spot these in Woolworths Supermarkets and Metro stores from this week and soon in BIG W. We're starting small but have exciting plans...

Targeted offers have been a joke for quite some time so there is nothing Woolworths can do to make me think anything less of them. I cannot think of the last time I received a targeted offer based on spend (maybe late 2021?). Meanwhile I regularly receive single or multi-week spend offers from Colés including an offer last week to earn 2400 Flybuys points on a $60 spend in store.

The targeted spend are items never (as good as never) on sale, yet the week prior or post they magically tend to be on special.

Well that's what I've found to be the case.
I've found a handful of products that seem to have kicked discounting promotions seem to pop up with 50-100 bonus points from time to time.

Can you give an example?

The only bonus points promotions I use are the ones for store branded items (including produce) which don't usually go on sale.

A while ago but I had a booster offer for Woollies egg tarts from the bakery. You could have knocked me over with a feather when 1 they actually had some and 2 they were on sale. $2 off a pack of 4.

I seem to get bonus point offers on a handful of branded products that are sometimes discounted, such as arnotts' shapes, body washes, etc. Occasionally these align.

In the earlier post I was more referring to things that seem to no longer go on sale, and scraping in with a few points is better than nothing.

However I'm rarely disappointed when these Slow cooked beef ribs come around with a 500 bonus points targeted boost; I think they aligned to going on sale once but tbh I was planning to buy them without the discount or the points :)

Ok silly question time. Daughters birthday party in 3 weeks and I'm going against the grain and will provide some wine for the adults.

I'm guessing that red would be the way to go? Everyday Rewards has offer of spend $40 online for 2000 bonus points on 2 accounts. Is $10-$15/bottle ok or very stingy? The party is 11:00am for say 2 hours so may not be an appropriate time for wine?

Wesfarmers has bought the parent company of Priceline, but I have seen nothing about it linking to Flybuys.
You want to hope that they do not. According to @Mattg Priceline's Sster Club reward program returns 3% against WW Rewards 0.5%. He does not mention Flybuys return but I expect it will be similar to WWRewards.

Of-course this is only the half of it because I find Priceline expensive on some medications and prescription drugs. You can add 50% discount buying only when a product is on special. e.g. Yesterday I bought Blackmores Mag-Min tablets in a 250 tab bottle for $25ish instead of $50'ish. ATM it is priced same at Chemist Warehouse where it is also on special. I am sure I am not teaching most of you anything as all pretty savvy on AFF.

All of the member price specials this week are just permanent multi buys, which, until Tuesday, had been available to everyone.
Now to get that same deal that everyone could get last week, you have to scan your rewards card.

Member prices are something that's very common in the US and in the past year it's rolled out to supermarkets (and continues to do so) in the UK. Looks like AU is going the same way.......

I've already read online articles (think tiktok that somehow end up as a news story) complaining about not getting the special price because they don't have EDR because they don't want to give them their personal information.

But it's pretty annoying when not a member. We couldn't get US apps to work on our phones even with a local sim or on wifi so missed out on lots of deals, eg Uber, fuel, starbucks, safeway, walgreens. We managed to convince the staff at Walgreens to give us the members price a couple of times though.
