Expert Flyer a couple of questions

Exhausted those points as well! Had to learn my way round the system.

Have just found that can join AsiaMiles and check availability that way.

Currently the flights I want are showing waitlist for first class which of course only applies to members of their own program but maybe some hope closer to time. We have business class at moment but can switch over to first if becomes available.

A shame BA taxes are so high - will use them next time when do a Qantas award since have to pay taxes then regardless.

Interesting to note that BA Avios search is showing availability on first class but using the search inside QFF showed nothing so they don't seem to do BA results well either.

For CX award availability, you can create a free Asia Miles account and search for award availability, even with 0 miles in your account you can still search via Asia Miles and CX web site.

I've been searching award availability on MH using ExpertFlyer.

EF shows MH Y awards as booking into S class but QF tells me MH redemptions in Y are actually X class.

All four sectors I was looking at on EF were returning S9 (using the 'Awards and Upgrades' function) and that is over Christmas and new year which seems strange.

ExpertFlyer Voice, are you able to assist? What am I doing wrong?

What dates and class and route are you after? I have access to BA so can check the availability on there for you.

Dale.

Okay - you can get back using Malaysian on 5 January via KUL.

Getting there is the problem. They seem to have flights for KUL-KIX but getting PER-KUL is the problem.

Another solution was offered - you can use Cathay CX and get to KIX via HKG and TPE on either 25 or 27 Dec - 26 Dec is not possible at all at this stage.

I didn't look in business though.

Do you have an AwardNexus account? If you join FlyerTalk forum you can get a free AwardNexus account and it is really good for searching alternative routes.

Wonderful. Thanks for that.

I don't have an AwardNexus account but will look into it.

If I want to get an annual pro subscription, how do the dates work? ie is it a 365/366 day subscription from join date, or the remainder of the month + 12 months, or pro-rata per calendar year?

It would be 1 year from the date the subscription term starts.

Thanks.

Is there a way to search for all dates in a specified time period that have availability of a certain fare bucket? eg if I want to search for all dates in June 2014 where QF1 has at least one seat in the U bucket available?

With the Premium service you can search up to +/- 7 days each for the departure and return date. You can then specify a specific class code in the filter on the results page along with the option to only show flights with availability in the chosen class codes(s).
