Expiring Krisflyer Miles - When can I travel?

Hi All, I have been reading this thread and have the same issue. I have a ticket booked on the 20th of Nov and cannot make the flight.

I have just been told that every mile has expired on the ticket and if I cancel I will lose all my miles. I was on the phone to an agent not based in Singapore and he just said that's the policy. I'm furious because they said all miles in 2022 would be extended - so how come this is happening? He just kept saying "only miles in your account are extended etc etc..."

With the date of the flight only 3 weeks away - does anyone have any advice for me? I have KG Gold status if that helps?

I would advise against cancelling it as the process of getting a refund is long and frustrating. I found phone calls to generally be a waste of time with different agents giving conflicting advice and promising call backs that never happen.
Why not change the ticket instead of cancelling?

I'm now considering changing the date to be honest. There is nothing available on the date I need this year however.

What SQ advised me is that I book a date as far out as possible and keep it as a placeholder and then, when I find a date available that I need to travel - lock that date in. Is this allowed? He actually said I can continue to change the date as many times as I want?

Even though it was a SQ rep, I've across more than my share of people who work for an airline and don't know the rules.

Thanks! I thought I was going to have to pay to extend them to find bookings for 2024 so this gave me a bit of breathing space to find J to anywhere to fit our 2024 timeline.
Yeah same here. I was ready to pay or transfer them out to velocity or mix of both

Phew, that's fantastic. I had latent 480k points that I was trying to utilise on long VA domestic routes which aren't even visible on SQ anymore.
