The big one for me is the type of person that flies Virgin and scattered around the cabin especially near me.
I really can't agree with this, and my flight spread has been 60% VA and 40% Q for the past 6 years. During peak hour on the East Coast, customers seem roughly equivalent. Q does tend to have a larger J cabin though, so I guess you could say you get "a few more of those types" on Q, but in Y it seems a pretty similar demographic. Actually from my observation point (which is generally 3A, by the way, thus ideal) VA's J cabin often has only 4 or so pax compared to a seemingly full J in Q. So in reality, you get bothered less by inane conversations in VA J. JonnyK - you really ought to try some VAJ - you might like it ! (I know I do).
Outside of peak, yeah well both airlines get more thong-wearers, what do you expect? It's actually the same on trains. On another note I'm always amused by people knocking public transport. I love public transport - I actually travel around the Syd metro as well and will gladly take a Strathfield-Liverpool train to see a client. Geeze, I have to say - I think JohnK would be horrified at what you see on that train from time-to-time. But I don't mind - head buried in the online news or the laptop, big deal.
