Family Pooling update

I have some questions about family pooling
I have set up family pooling with points & SCs going from member A to member B

1 - what is the best way to get the points already in member A's account to member B? (<5000)
2 - would member A's account become inactivated as there will be no activity in member A's account any more? (family pooling automatically transferring any new points & SCs)

Cheers

1 - Transfer enough points from Person B to Person A to make A have 5000, then transfer this 5000 back to B.
2 - Not sure, would need Virgin to confirm that accounts are still 'active' even if all their points and SC pool to someone else.

FWIW, my wife is pooling to me, however some points she earned from an iSubscribe bonus still went into her account and didn't pool.

1 - You can try transferring 5,000 points member B to member A, then transfer 5000 points plus original balance from member A back to member B.
2 - Accounts don't become deactivated after three years, the points are reset to zero (see rule 3.25). Member A won't have any points to reset.

Thanks
Was thinking about that too, but not sure if I need to cancel the pooling first as I don't know if the 5000 pts will just come back to A because of the pooling

Cheers

Was wondering what the general consensus is for my situation:
Platinum with review date of 31 Aug, requalification already and lots of upcoming J class domestic plus annual family trip to Fiji. Will easily achieve partner gold (perhaps platinum) before August, should i continue to accrue or should I pool to SWMBO so she can achieve gold that way?
Guess the jist of the question is do we think that yearly or lifetime SC totals will count for much moving foward?

How often does SWMBO fly without you?

Pool to her, then the kids, then the dog etc. Provided all fly the required amount of sectors, remembereing that eligible sectors start very soon

Hi FFlyers,
A quick question if I could. I have family pooling set up in Velocity with my partner as we fly allot together and I fly occasionally with work. I have been successfully pooled some flights we have taken together already. We are taking a trip with Etihad Mel - Dub return. I currently have a Etihad frequent flyer number against this booking as at the time there was a special double mile offer for available and I thought I would already be gold with Virgin. However I did the calculation and If I was to take the status credits from the flight as Virgin credits (pooled together) I would hit gold FFlyer, I think this is of more benefit to me than anything Etihad could offer.

Question, Can you change a booking to remove a Etihad frequent flyer number to add my velocity number and also Is family pooling available even for flights with a partner airline?

Thanks,
EuroFlyer

Can I sign SHMBO up for the current Amex promo and then (family) pool the points back into my account?

Yes. Provided you have selected to pool both points and SC's. I currently have both selected to pool to my wife and all points earned from my credit card, phone, flights, rental cars, etc get pooled across to her.

Try online, and if you can't there the Etihad call centre should be able to. Worst case, they can change it on check in.

Question:

If my mothers points pool into my fathers account, and my fathers points pool into my account, will I receive points/sc's from both my mother and father?

You can't set up a "tiered pool" - once someone starts pooling to your father, he will no longer be able to nominate someone to pool to.

.... and only two adults at the one address are allowed within the pooling rules.
