Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Leigh Matthews was in the Melbourne GH lounge Saturday night and Sunday morning with his Mrs.

Didn't talk to him, but some un-tactful fans went and got selfies and autographs.

My father in law was on the Concorde in the early '80s.

Everyone was making a big deal about the guy in the seat next to him. My father in law eventually asked:

"Excuse me, but who are you?"

Elton John.
My wife still has the autograph signed on Concorde letterhead.

Well that just put up the price of his autograph :D

Melbourne Storm flying Melbourne to Sydney couple weeks back... then my bubby girl said hi repeatedly, played peek-a-boo, flirted, smiled, laughed and shared her sultanas with a very patient Ian Thorpe and an amused Grant Denyer sitting behind us from Sydney to Melbourne a few days later.

James Blunt SYD-SIN-LHR 2 days ago in F. I only recognized him because of his appearance on Top Gear. Reckons he was down under for X factor or somewhat??

Katie and I almost walked into Neil Perry yesterday (he was on his mobile outside his restaurant Spice Temple) - dressed in formal kitchen blacks but with white trainers. Always the fashionista.

Ran into John Aloisi this morning as I opened my office door - he was leaving the next door coffee place. He's around for a while - next coach for the Brisbane Roar

Almost but not quite. I've been staying at the Beverly Hilton the last few days and last night on returning from a great 14hour day at a Universal Studios on a VIP pass with my daughter and wife, at around 10:30pm, our taxi was met by a roadblock on the driveway leading up to the hotel entrance. Security was everywhere, sniffer dogs, mirrors under the car, the whole kit and kaboodle. I asked what was going on and was just told that there was a convention going on. Some convention eh? When we were finally let through we were greeted by metal detectors in the lobby. Black limos and more security everywhere as well as reporters etc. I eventually found out that President Obama was staying at the hotel last night and tonight. I guess if the hotel is good enough for Barack then it's good enough for ...... No wait, perhaps he'd heard I was staying there? ;)

Well I didn't get to see him and if I did, doubt I would of got within a bull's roar. Almost but not quite.

Well Amanda Keller just walked into the Qantas First lounge at Tom Bradley in LAX international. I had a very brief chat with her about her days with Denton. A nice lady.
