Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

I sort of feel for celebrities: they always have to be up for a chat because otherwise for the rest of their life someone is going to be telling stories about how rude they were.

I couldn't imagine how awful strangers constantly coming up to me would be! Still, they sort of signed up for the life, didn't they?

Amazes me that some people think they are entitled to pontificate because they make judgements based only on wildly inaccurate assumptions. When you don't know the facts don't dream them up because you feel like being a smart ar.........

Both are attention seeking drama queens ...................but he puts her in the shade in that regard.
I sat adjacent to him on a QF dom flight (he was in 1A with a shadow). Most people just sit in their seat and read or something but when he wasn't wanting to be seen by needlessly sticking his head up to look around the cabin behind him he was calling the FA to get his laptop or jumper or something else out of his overhead locker (did it 3 times on a 1 hr flight). Too self important to even stand up and get his stuff himself.

The "Green Machine" - Danny Green. MEL Virgin Lounge Friday 5th Aug at 7.30pm - probably on his way back home to PER after his good win on the 3rd. Great boxer; great role model and great bloke. Always up for a chat.

Isn't that what you are doing with these previous posts and isn't that what the internet is all about :?: ;)

Saturday evening flight SYD to MEL Scotty Cam from The Block was in 1K, I was in 1E, I didn't even realise until the passenger next to me asked to get a photo with him. Nice guy, chatted briefly with the passenger while we waited to exit the plane.

I took a 6am MEL-SYD flight earlier this year and he was in 1A. The said "Welcome back, Mr Cam, would you like your usual morning can of VB?" and the reply that came back was barely audible (was quite clear he was having the morning after the big night before).

Was in 1A PER-MEL the other night and Frankie J Holden was in 2A. Seemed like a very nice guy. Didn't talk to him but he was very friendly to others around (seemed a down to earth bloke).

I have met him a couple of times. On public display he was very good but in a less public arena he talked rubbish.

You have overlooked an important distinction, Bill, because there is a world of difference between my posts and njba's.

Both the Peter Fitzsimons and Danny Green posts you quoted relate to my own first hand experiences - situations where I know the facts and details because I was actually there and participated. Isn’t this thread supposed to be a bit of frivolous banter about such first hand sightings?

On the other hand, njba, wrote this in obvious reference to my Danny Green post:
“I sort of feel for celebrities: they always have to be up for a chat because otherwise for the rest of their life someone is going to be telling stories about how rude they were.

(my bold)

Despite having absolutely zero personal knowledge of the circumstances and whether I was or wasn’t a “stranger”, njba decided that he had a more insightful understanding of MY experience than I did – and proceeded to make inferences that were nothing short of impertinent and bordering on disparaging of me. There was no substance to his comments and he deserved to be “called out” on that.

I thought njba was just generally musing on the life of a 'celeb', not making direct reference to your posts....maybe I'm wrong

I think the "they always have to be up for a chat...." is the give away because it was lifted directly from my post which stated Danny Green was..."always up for a chat"

Ditto!

....maybe you jumped the gun a bit, vetrade

And the wonderful thing is that (rightly) everyone gets to have an opinion. I've explained why it didn't seem to be a "general comment" to me and so far I haven't read a single word to rationalise why my interpretation doesn't fit the facts of what was posted.

I actually see little relationship between njba's posts and your posts.

Yours were fairly specific and njba's were a generalisation. (Having said that you were assuming Danny Green was "probably on his way back home to PER after his good win on the 3rd.")

Just that most others interpret it differently to you.

In any case let's go back to the thread.

Wondered whether the Royals preferred 1A, 2A or away from the 'Royal' [non-squat] loo.

Way outside realms of possibilities that they would sit in the middle (F) seats

Bit off topic, sorry

Would have to wonder if he is CL or not???
