Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Greg Chappell Adelaide to Melbourne on Q on Friday. I couldn't bring myself to ask him about the safety video. Even though we knew someone in common who was happily chatting to him post flight. Partly shyness, partly a respect for leaving "famous people" alone. LOL even though I could find myself playing golf with him some Saturdays

Was he having 'two for the road' John?

Was is Doug or Boonie who held the record for how many tinnies they could knock off on a SYD/LHR flight?

A true legend.

In recent times, he became the face of Victoria Bitter (VB) beer for its 2005/06 & 2006/07 summer advertising campaigns, called "Boonanza". Part of the promotion was the sale of a talking David Boon figurine with purchases of beer, which would make comments when prompted by Channel Nine commentary. One health expert claimed it was a "..a dog-whistle marketing strategy directed at the heavy-drinking, sporting public that says, 'Go for it'."[12] He is also alleged to have once consumed 52 cans of beer on a flight from Sydney to London in 1989, in a story that is considered by some to be part of Australian sporting legend. This has never been confirmed by Boon however though Geoff Lawson did confirm it[13]

And eat by the looks of things;)

Amanda used to live in the street at right angles to my street. Fairly well known street on Adelaide as Shine (Geoffrey Rush movie) was filmed there. The trampoline scene. Our street was blocked off with signs saying "shine" and it was almost 18 months later we understood what shine meant.

Anyway. Back to Amanda. Something big was going down in Canberra a few years ago and as I was driving the kids to school, I saw Jana Wendt knocking on doors trying to find Amanda's house! She didn't look her normal pr self.

It's funny reading this thread. Hubby was involved in high level cricket teams and the Olympic team and then government and some of these people we have met and/or well known to him.

My wife flew back with John Howard from honkers, as usual calm and no fuss.

An incredibly polite and personally humble man.

Used to see him around my apartment block fairly often a few years ago (in the car park, in the lift, walking out the front door). Always friendly, usually helping out with boxes/plants/shopping etc.. just like any other normal bloke. Think one of his kids lived here.

Top bloke.

I was boarding a flight from LAX - SYD in December 2010 and looked to my left and Hamish and Andy were walking along next to me..

Sir Cliff Richard in the SYD F lounge chatting with someone I don't recognise.

Steve Rixon was seated next to me SYD-MEL today. I thought he may have posted here to say he'd sat next to me but I'm not sure he is a member. He was no bother at all, didn't ask me for an autograph or enquire a to why the CSM kept trying to offer me things from J. :p

There were quite a few Australian, presumably T20, cricketers on the flight....I wonder what they thought of the safety video?

Not travelling, but I saw one of the Williams sisters outside her hotel in Chapel st this morning... She might have been on her way to the airport though.
