Fiji Airways to become full oneworld member

You could argue Air North used QFF. I think Brindabella too?

But the difference is these were still feeders of QFF, so already very much in the QF eco system even if owned and operated separately.

Didn't they only have one plane, or am I confused by another mob that collapsed?
Possibly. SB are still flying despite the recent protests.

Oh, and of course AF and KL share FB. As does Kenya airlines?

Don't think we should count airlines with the same owners. Otherwise we've got an easy example of QF and JQ.
Which is a big component of the Avios story (BA, IB, EI and VY).

Re Flying Blue, SB and KQ are independently owned.

Pretty sure Tarom and AirEuropa use Flying Blue too, and are not owned by AF/KL.

Meanwhile, aside from the various Lufthansa Group Carriers, Miles & More is used by Croatia Airlines, Luxair and LOT.

You'd be thinking of NF I think, with their one 737 and a few props for inter-island travel. That said, prior to collapse, they did use QFF.

Awaiting approval for IAG to purchase Air Europa and then they will join the Avios cartel in some form

Wow did not see that coming. AA miles have just become even more valuable.
Probably not an immediate change re “miles”. AA can already earn and burn on FJ code (but not earn Loyalty miles like you can with QFF).

Earning Loyalty miles and roll out of equivalent status recognition for AA and Tabua status members would be the main change?

An obvious benefit will the closer to home opportunities to earn AA miles/status for Oz based flyers (who may become regulars on the Bula Route! 😁).

It would be interesting to understand the motivation behind this decision setting aside the maximisation of revenue/NA. At first glance, it is probably underpinned by the potential of the US market over the Australia /NZ markets, given the latter's maturity.
