No issues for me. I just walked in all prepared and gave them the exact number and cost of all my vacations and they closed the session early and said no to me. I had so many trips and travel hacks in play, that they realised very quickly the club would not provide any value to me……. But the free weekend accommodation went down very wellJust make sure you are extremely good at saying no, as I heard they use every tactic under the sun for you to sign up to the club.
I actually paid $99 for the weekend (so my free comment was not accurate)........ but it was a bargain for sitting through a short talk. As I say, to close them down quick, show them how little you are currently paying for 5 star accommodation, then the math's behind their sales pitch falls over and they give up.What were the taxes?
Or was it completely free?
Nice insight, and yeah for $99 it's definitely a bargain. Was it easy booking the offer? I can see from the terms you'd have to call their coughet office. If you could share what they required from you, it'd be helpful @GrahamBRI ThanksI actually paid $99 for the weekend (so my free comment was not accurate)........ but it was a bargain for sitting through a short talk. Apologies for continuing off the OP topic to answer this one...... But to answer the question, I spoke with the team at Marriott GoldCoast and advised them of the promotion I had seen. They offered me a better one. They can be contacted at Marriott Vacation Club, Phone: 07 5680 0100, Website:marriottvacationclub.com.au and email at [email protected]. It is perfect for people who don't plan in advance, want luxury accommodation and still like to think they are saving some coin. This is a long term commitment (cash locked into the club). I would class it as the "Chrisco" holiday hamper, you pay in advance for and get a holiday every year. If you love the hunt of a good deal and variety of locations and accommodation types, this club is not for you........ other than to get the good deal of a weekend away.So how bad a deal is this club?
Can we know what kind of better deal they offer?? CheersApologies for continuing off the OP topic to answer this one...... What is the link to this page that indicates World (not Elite) can get this offer? it doesnt match what i see on this page which is World Elite onlyWow, thanks nightelves, regarding the presentation, based on their T&Cs it says World Elite cardholders do not have to attend them, as opposed to being explicitly mentioned in the World cardholders.
Yeah, this got me interested, just wasn't sure if someone had availed it before. But your comment excited me and I'll probably have a closer look at this!

Lol didn't know this. Just re-read the t&cs now. So we need to show them our income for this.T&Cs... This Package is designed for married couples, both aged between 28 and 65 years old
Excellent posts Graham, thanks for sharing, it makes you wonder what other “deals” there are out there for cardholders - that you don’t see advertised.Apologies for continuing off the OP topic to answer this one...... I had 3 nights at the Gold Coast Marriott for $99. It was about 18 months ago, and the campaign I actually rang about was a 2 night one for same price.Excellent posts Graham, thanks for sharing, it makes you wonder what other “deals” there are out there for cardholders - that you don’t see advertised.
How much better was the deal you received than the advertised - if you don’t mind sharing?
I would assume that they wont ask for proof of the income, you would just 'declare it'.Lol didn't know this. Just re-read the t&cs now. So we need to show them our income for this.
Oh! That only applys to world card holders. World elite's t&cs doesn't say anything about married couple and income.
That's better.
So been talking to Marriott vacation club, they are of the opinion that Elite holders still need to attend the presentation. Can anyone point me to the T&Cs on a website that indicates that we don't?
See questions and response in red from Marriott, this is for coughet.
I was of the understanding that World Elite Mastercard holders do not need to attend the presentation, can you please confirm this? I do see this is a condition of World Mastercard though.
Not to attend the sales presentation, it’s for Malaysian who live in Malaysia ONLY. In your case, MUST attend with your spouse together
