This trip was another first for me. although i took my camera all the photos on this trip were taken with my phone.

Phone cameras are so convenient. Im seriously thinking of selling my DSLR

I left my Sony pocket camera home for my last RTW( same as drron’s I think, with ?60 X optical to 100x digital zoom) - and regretted it. iPhone 12 and it couldn't do shots needing zoom nearly as well.

It'll go back with me next trip.

Pack it and drag it out if the day's situation calls for it.

So the last of our lunch. lamb rack at top, loin and belly. Artichoke and a lemon sauce with a hint of honey. All worked together. Loved it even though no mint sauce!

Then a shizu leaf sorbet.Excellent.

And at last Dessert. Floating Island with passionfruit and Kaffir lime. Just a little tart.

Then douceurs. Lemongrass popsicles,a bakery item, devilish chocolate and palate cleansing Japanese fruit.

So nearly 4 hours after we walked into the restaurant we stumbled out. You could also have added a cheeses plate before dessert and the selection was really interesting. There would be no way I could have done it justice. Even the young fellow at the next table was obviously struggling after the cheese plate.

Odette on the San Pellegrino lists is Number 1 in Asia and Number 5 in the world. It has 3 Michelin stars. Befitting that status it is expensive. $S1100 for us. Would be $S700 without the alcohol but where would be the fun.
Was it worth it? For us it certainly was The food was excellent, the presentation really good and the service was excellent and friendly. At our stage of life it is all about the quality of our remaining years and this experience was excellent.
Just fantastic dr and mrsdrron

Did you see any Jackfruit?
We had/have fruit on our Jackfruit tree. Wife was showing me Messenger call but not sure have photo.

Think Jack fruit were $5+/kg in Brisbane recently and here they are a few baht a kg.

Yesterday we bought Longan for 65 baht/kg, Mangosteen 29 baht/kg and Rambutan 19 baht/kg from Makro. I only have a taste but wife/daughter love them.

Great report, though I always use the Singapore MRT (and the Bangkok airport train) when I visit: cheaper and more interesting than a taxi.

drron, how busy was each hotel at which you stayed in Singapore and Bangkok? Did you observe many Caucasians who had 'the look of tourists' in each city?

The complete lack of travellers from mainland China can't be helping occupancies.

We only got taxis from the airport and back. don't like schlepping bags on public transport. We did get the BTS twice in Bangkok but in both places it was shanks pony.

There weren't that many Europeans apart from the IC in Singapore. The locals were out in force in both places and when busy 90% wearing masks.
