Haven't flown in the A380 F, but from what I've read and seen in photos, the soft product is too similar to J. Then there's the new standard of F that Etihad has on their A380 and I think that looks really nice and not at all over-the-top as with EK. I don't believe they need a shower or their own bar area compared to J.

I have had a lot of F flights on QF.
From my perspective the seat and mattress make an excellent bed, and the staff are wonderful.
Improvements I would like them to make are
Bigger bathrooms with proper amenities in them.
Better screen resolution for the IFE
Bigger differentiation between J and F dining. J is like F minus or F is like J plus most of the time.

They promise you one of the three champagnes listed, not all 3. We would have loved the Pol Roger too but unfortunately it was not the selected bottle for that flight.
With what people pay for F one would think they could afford to stock all three on all flights. Yes there would be a cost to this, but it's the little things that can make all the difference.

At least you had champagne! There was a long time when they'd run out - frequently.

Ummm, they ran out before the meal service on my flight (and that was June this year). So not much has changed.

Wow. Just wow. QF has promised the problem had been fixed! I dunno how much QF pay for champagne, but let's say they get a promotional price of $50 a bottle. Spread over 11 flights a day with F - that's a saving of $200,000 a year. Take two bottles off each flight and you have close to half a million dollars of savings.

Its the 'little' things that add up!

I have done a few sectors in QF F on the A380, and my comments are based on comparison with TG, EY, EK F on the A380. I have yet to fly SQ A380 F.
1) QF need a bigger, more spacious toilet, not necessarily a shower suite.
2) Seats need more privacy.
3) Meals on demand
4) Seats / beds that don't rotate
5) Being addresed by name all the time, and overall exemplary service
6) Better range of wine on board
7) Full caviar service :)

Have a good look at EY A380 F and start from there...their hard, and to a lesser degree soft, product set the current standards for F travel IMO :)

The good news in all this is it all but confirms they will relaunch F at some point. I had feared they would just refurbish the current product and let it run until the 380's retire and that would be the end of F at QF. I'm pleased to see that might not be the case.

I'd expect a working mock up to try out. Having been to that location, they have all the various cabins there to be experienced.

I agree with these comments, and would add that the "on ground" experience could also be tweaked a bit eg. escorted to/through customs/immigration (faster than fast track!), and to somehow better differentiate the on-ground F experience from that of Platinum (travelling in any class).

Given the exclusivity of the F product why not provide the ability to pre-order your preferred champagne? Just like you can with your meals.

The personalisation of the service in this manner would add a little more cachet to the trip.

I'd settle for some Coopers stout.

How about F hosts in all ports that can be contacted and useful, rather than just SYD & MEL? And day before contact from foreign ports too. Kerbside check-in, etc.

Agree with that; was the biggest let down for me out of LHR.

They only load 7 bottles on long haul flight.
Considering the number of seats in the F cabin and adding the number of P1/CL who sit in J and served F champagne it's almost impossible not to run out frequently. Earlier this year they run out of it during first meal service on the way to Dubai!
It is seriously embarrassing that an airline who charges so much for an F ticket allows that to happen.

I've never flown F on any airline, but pretty shocked to hear that meals in F are no on demand. Given other airlines offer this in J, I find that pretty amazing.

As for the champagne running out, just add another $100 on to the ticket price. At F prices, it makes little difference and avoids the negative experience.
