First Class on American Eagle?

maybe it's dependent on the airport? I have done some 50 odd flights into a smaller regional US airport (UA, US, AA, DL), never had to wait for valet bags. There is only an announcement to wait on the jet-bridge if you are expecting a bag. From what i can recall arrival at ORD/IAD/LGA has been the same.

Maybe it was another of these short lived initiatives. I have 4 SAN-LAX segments coming in 2 weeks, so I will see if this is still enforced. I have only seen that enforced at airports where you collect your valet bag on the tarmac instead of inside the jet-bridge.
It's no big deal, it's just that at the time I really felt like: "NOOOO! Not ANOTHER rule! Arghhh this will never end...", but next week will be my first trip to the US since the FAA removed the portable electronic rules, so I guess some times some rules do disappear!

I guess the rule makes sense for a tarmac collection? they don't want people hanging around on the tarmac?

I did a SAN-LAX recently and was appalled to find they use a separate and old terminal for this route. No lounges whatsoever and a pitiful bar. DO NOT arrive 3 hrs early expecting to take advantage of usual lounge benefits. Recommend you checkin at the last possible moment. Will never fly SAN-LAX again if this remains status quo.

That is pretty bad. Given that is it American Eagle, that is not very surprising. First class is not that substantially better and now most airlines are trying to sell those seats at boarding time for a fee to upgrade from coach hoping some people take the bait.
