Slightly OT, im on the same flight Syd-Lax and need to connect to the Lax-Sfo leg with AA and on different PNRs, can I bypass customs and immigration until I get to Sfo?

Nope. Immigration, customs and baggage checks occur at first port of entry into the US.

To give you an indication:
I flew SYD-LHR in March, F cabin about 10 passengers. One of those passengers had a First Host meet him at LHR

hmm, yeah no-one had a First Host meet them at LAX when my mum and I flew F in January.

Is this a service that all First customers are entitled to though? Is it just the First Hosts slacking off? :P

Amazing flight
The tasting menu was incredible!
Can't believe I'm saying this, but don't want to go back to J!

Didn't see any first hosts around when we landed. Being first off the plane helped get through customs and immigration fairly quickly tho, was out of there at 1025.

Thanks for all the advice.

Yeah, I've done F on the A380 to/from LAX and then did J to/from a couple of months later, and I must say, First has spoiled me.

Especially considering the J seats are not wide enough for me to sleep on my back, as well as not long enough (I'm 6ft9in and 175kg).

So yeah, F on A380 is always significantly better, J for me is kinda a minimum for a flight with comfy sleep.

That being said though, I can sleep upright on a stool if I need to haha, I have no problems with going to sleep when tired.
