Any reason why YMX-YVR-HNL-NAN was a different flight number then NAN-SYD?
More status credits for the crew?

Quite boring TBH. No IFE, standard J seating. They'll come out soon enough though.Have there been any interior pics of the A220 as yet? I recall a layout, but not actual images. Lots of the dots on the outside, not so the spots on the inside……
In theory those ferrying flights were given a QF flight number so it would be eligible for status credits. But one must wonder what fare class the crew were ticketed into. Certainly it was some sort of flexible ticket since they were travelling on business. If someone could tell us whether seats 0A and 0B are considered Economy or Business, it would be appreciated.More status credits for the crew?
Yes, I'm fascinated by the meltdown over the appearance of a new, small, single aisle airframe in Australia. Is it the new Concorde?Quite boring TBH. No IFE, standard J seating. They'll come out soon enough though.
I agree … I think Qantas has missed an opportunity with regards to IFE, especially as the A220 can be deployed on some unique bespoke overseas missions.Quite boring TBH. No IFE, standard J seating. They'll come out soon enough though.
Same as the meltdown over 'new' 787-9s arriving. 8 years after they entered service with other airlines.Yes, I'm fascinated by the meltdown over the appearance of a new, small, single aisle airframe in Australia. Is it the new Concorde?
Flown it overseas
I think you hit the nail on the head here. The real issue with Qantas is they have been flying dinosaurs for quite sometime. Be it the Boeing 747, Airbus' 747M, the 717s or the 737-NGs one can point to a fleet that on average is well over a decade old. Contrast that with rivals such as Air New Zealand, which has an average fleet age of 9.5 years and is it any wonder that any news on new birds coming to the fleet is a big deal? Now sure people may point to Rex as having even older birds (average fleet age 27.2 years), but do you really want to compare yourself to Rex?Same as the meltdown over 'new' 787-9s arriving. 8 years after they entered service with other airlines.
Maybe I am the odd one out but I find IFEs over rated. I mean who wants to choose from a limited selection of films on a tiny screen? Fact of the matter is everyone has an iPad that can run circles around the IFEs on most regional routes. What matters and what I think is exciting about the new Bombardier C Series is the inclusion of a number of items which to my knowledge aren't available on the Boeing 717s and Dash-8 this bird replaces:Quite boring TBH. I wouldn't mind the a350 screens. Those are pretty much high spec. 4k HDR OLED 13" tiny bezels.Maybe I am the odd one out but I find IFEs over rated. Now to jetsetters flying on Boeing 787s and A380s everyday this airplane is pedestrian, no doubt about it. But the fact of the matter is, these small jets are workhorses for regional travel and will make a difference on those who rely on air travel to stay connected to their communities. Small improvements over a long time really do add up!
- On-board wifi
- Electrical outlets at every seat
- Wider seats in both cabins with more legroom
Thanks for this. Made a trip out to MEL to spot it. Will share some photos laterFor those interested, the A220 is expected to visit Canberra and Melbourne tomorrow (21/12).

Nope.Fact of the matter is everyone has an iPad <snip>
I like the broccoli theme. That is one spectacular livery. Have to hand it to Qantas for that one.
