PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Hi Serfty

Just some feedback the flight to DXB had over 200 seats free in Y down stairs and was absolutely chockers from DXB to LHR and so no upgrades.

Hi peeps,

Am hoping to grab an upgrade from PE to J on QF28 from SCL to SYD on the 12th of November 2014, the QF booking says 'wait listed' which has me concerned.

Can anyone comment on the loadings for that flight or their experience being wait listed?

Not knowing what has happened with upgrades already, all the space seems to be down the back of the plane.

Could someone helpout with
QF82 SIN-SYD departing 30-Dec-14

And any advice on whether its worth gambling on an OpUp over the Xmas/NY period as a Plat rather than burning the 40k

I've never gambled for op-op... only ever got 1 international op-up and on CX not QF...

And with J looking relatively full and Y empty looks unlikely. May put in for it and select a seat down back

I used to look these up myself but don't seem to be able to now.

QF 8419 Sydney - Bkk on 27th December.

Looking for a cheeky upgrade. :p

Have the first leg of my first ever Europe trip booked in July, and now trying to work out how to get home.

Want to burn my AA points for J, can leave either Brussels (or somewhere nearby) around Aug 14/15. Anyone able to do a quick search for availability?

Is it really worth looking at the fare buckets this far out?

Thank you! So economy heavily booked and J pretty much open?

I wonder if they might have a tour group, and are holding the seats until final numbers?

But it is a Saturday in peak holiday season so perhaps they are already oversold in Y?

In other words, I have no idea!

The fares when we purchased a few weeks ago were very high. And of course it's the last minute that really counts but not sure if flying J is one of those decisions. I have no hopes at all, just curious. :p

Hello All

we are flying back to London on Tuesday 18th Nov, QF1 SYD-LHR and have put in a request for upgrade a few weeks ago. Can someone please check the loads and see if we have any chance? 1 Gold and 1 Silver member.

As predicted, we were unsuccessful on the way over - the flight had no empty seats at all!

thanks as always
