PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Given it's 2 weeks away, and the wide open QF flight in Y, it might be worth the gamble to wait for a few days before making a purchase. I know... dangerous territory here. :)

Anyway isn't the refund fee only HKD$800? I could always cancel and book CX J direct on USDM even very close to departure

It's more like 12 weeks away;), so still a big gamble.
For some reason, I read March, so thanks for pointing it out.

Change fee is $800, while cancellation is $1000. There is also a no-show fee of $3000 if it ever gets to that. For ex-HKG tickets, the Red E is pretty much a 3-months version of the Flexi Saver (which is 12 months). I don't think they have any additional local charges as such, but I could be wrong.

Hi All

Could anyone tell me the loadings for QF10 - LHR-MEL on 16th March? Hoping for an upgrade from PE to J for my parents.

Thanks in advance

Will

I'd say they have a fair chance if they have some status with QF.

Only Bronze unfortunately - put in a family upgrade request with my points, so fingers crossed

The seat map shows 16 J seats blocked, one for allocation, so looks like they might be getting ready to sort out the upgrade requests. Premium Economy looks very open, with 11 blocked and 8 not allocated, so with W9, R9, T9 there is less pressure to make way for upgrades from Y, so still a bit of a lottery about whether the PE to J upgrade will succeed.

Re: Seat Load on QF51 Sin-Bri 21st Feb 2015

Can someone please assist with loading for the following?

QF127 SYD-HKG 29 March 2015
QF128 HKG-SYD 06 April 2015

Only 2 weeks away and I am starting to get excited. Both these flights were 747 and are now A380. This route is my only hope to use up ~1.3 million points otherwise I am going to have to buy toasters....

Oh and another not for upgrade purposes but for chance of an aisle seat in economy. Some of you may be able to guess what I am scheming? ;)

Stump up the money now or wait until OLCI?

The current availability for QF9 is: F7 A4 J9 C7 D1 I0 W4 R1 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 G0 E0, so always a chance although at just under 2 weeks a bit hard to really tell.

QF2 has F3 A2 J9 C0 D0 I0 W9 R5 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 G0 E0, which is also promising at this stage. But it is close to the start of the school holidays then, so way to early to tell what demand there might be over the next month or so.

Good luck and hope you have a reat trip.

Dipped out on an upgrade on QF9. There were a few spare J seats on the DXB - LHR leg, but the QF system doesn't have the flexibility of offering them if you've booked MEL - LHR.

So how's QF2 for LHR - SYD this Thursday night (19/3/15) looking now? FWIW, I could buy 9 Business Flex tickets right now if I wanted to (at £4517 each!).

11 open, 7 blocked on the seatmap, but no "I" availability. Guess we would only be guessing.

I assume that QF 10 on 16th March from lhr to Mel is now full? Was trying to get a points upgrade to j for my parents but with 2 hours til t-24 heard nothing, so assume the worst...

Re: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Just requested an upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy on QF7 to DFW on 3 April. Any idea what my chances will be - am wondering whether I should pay the $25 to reserve a seat. Also site won't give me access to the whole of the economy section of the plane for booking. Thanks for any help.

Given that you are limited in seeing what Y seats are available, it's safe to assume that you have no / low QFF status.

That will have an adverse impact on your upgrade chances.

It's safer to spend $25 to select what's best now. Personally I'd spend more to select an exit row seat as it is a rather long flight.
