PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Looks like a stock standard loading at this stage.

Thanks Andy

Based on that ie the lack of availability of low Y buckets looks to be fearfully full contemplating going for a Y-J Upgrade as I am on a FULL Flexy fare. Or should I wait for an OP UP :D LOL

I'm flying QF1 to LHR on the 31st July. I've chucked in a upgrade request to J
How hopeful should I be?
Also is it worth upgrading to PE if available?

ps. not sure if this is worth putting down but I am bronze and will hit silver on this leg.

Much appreciated

Good afternoon all, just wonedring if I can get a check on QF15 BNE to LAX Monday 13 July. Thank you.

Looks promising for both Y to PE and Y to J: J9 C9 D9 I3 W9 R9 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M8 L5 V4 S3 G0 E0

Looks like some free seats in Y as well, so a free seat next to you probably isn't too much to ask for (unlike my flight heading out of SIN next week).

Thanks Awesom Andy. A row to myself or spare seat next to me would be good. I do know crew working my flight so who knows! Enjoy your flight.

Re: Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

Would one of the EF gang please check loadings in Y for QF 17 tomorrow 13 July please?

edit: we're considering taking 44A, 44C and 44D and hoping no one is allocated 44B. Of course it's pointless if it's a full flight.

J seat availablity

Traveling SIN to MEL on QF36 on 15th July.

Can anyone pease assist with availability of upgrade seats. ie, are there any J seats left

Many thanks

Re: J seat availablity

Expertflyer is showing zero availability in all classes / buckets. All bar 4 of the J seats are already allocated too. Looks like it's full.

This is regarding the QF36 query, 15 July, by the way.

Re: J seat availablity

Not sure if this is correct area to post or should be starting new question? Anyone know the chance of an upgrade requested for 1st August qf63 Syd to jnb? Husband booked in PE, with points upgrade requested. Looks like there are still some seats left in J, with almost 3 weeks to go. What are our chances (one person)? Any help appreciated or redirect me to correct forum? Thanks

Do you have status? Without any status with QF I would say upgrade is unlikely.

Thanks to all who answered. Pity, with both Mrs Swilk and I WP we may have had a chance given availability. I've not haduch luck at all with international upgrades even during my WP1 time

My son is flying on QF11 to LA on Sunday 12 July.
He has an upgrade request in, he is silver.
Can someone please check his chances? Thank you.

Thanks for your replys
As you reported there was good availability.

Just an update. My son did indeed get and upgrade. Although when we looked to select his seat there was only one choice. So there must have been quite a few upgrades on todays flight. He was very excited and it will make his trip much more comfortable, as he was nursing a very swollen ankle from a soccer game yesterday.

Anything out of SIN has been at zero for days, even before the DPS issue. And if you happen to be flying a day later, come say hi to me. :)
