PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Do you have status? Without any status with QF I would say upgrade is unlikely.
Thanks for reply. Yes my husband is Qantas Silver. If he could have completed this trip before 1 aug he would have made gold but timing just didn't work.

My son leaves LAX for SYD on QF18 on saturday 25 July.
He has put in an upgrade request, should he get his hopes up?

Thanks for your replies OATEK and kermatu.
He is looking for an op up to J, he is QF silver The plane is a 747.

He was fortunate to get his first op up to J on his flight on Sunday to LA. It is a work trip.

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone can check what the prospect is of a waitlisted Singapore Airlines business class award booking clearing.
The booking is SQ979 BKK-SIN on Tuesday July 21 and SQ231 SIN-SYD on Wednesday July 22.
Hope someone can assist with some insights and apologies if this is not the right forum for this post.

Here's SQ979 on July 21:
Z4 C4 J4 U4 D1 Y9 B9 E9 M9 H9 W9 Q9N9 L9

And here's SQ231 on July 22:
R4 F4 A4 Z4 C0 J0 U0 D0 Y0 B0 E0 M0H0 W0 Q0 N0 G0 L0

SQ in ExpertFlyer only shows a max of 4 (i.e. at least 4 available for sale in that cabin) for F (R,F & A) and J (Z, C, J, U & D), and max of 9 for Y+ & Y, though doesn't look to be any Y+ on these flights. SQ don't publish award buckets to ExpertFlyer, but for reference they are O (for F), I (for J) & X (for Y). I'd say chances aren't looking good on SQ231, and it's a maybe on SQ979 and if those seats remain unsold. Good luck!

Cheers.
Matt.

I think another light flight - July 19, QF 127 Sydney to Hong Kong. Currently booked in PE with an upgrade request to J. A 747. WP and SG flyers. Chances?
And if good, which seats should we try for? Upper deck?

Think I am looking good for Sunday? If interpreting correctly, still 9J seats?

Hi Matt,
thanks for looking up all of that info. Happy to report the bookings were confirmed and ticketed today. a bit relieved to know will be able to get home on my preferred flight choice.
Cheers,

It's J9 C9 D3 I0 so not heavily booked. My pick would be the nose cone over the upper deck, but also consider 5B/J if you're flying solo.

Tapping fingers not so patiently. Same J9 C9 D7 I0 but still no Fairy Upgrade. C'mon, less than 48 hours for a WP......

I think there is still hope! I'm also flying on the 19th, but on QF11, and my upgrade was processed last night at T-60 (first time it happens to me that early on a MEL/SYD-LAX flight). The loading in J was J9 C9 D6 just before I got the SMS, it then went to J8 C8.

Victory - just came through! Yay! Took 8A and 8B - was originally allocated middle seats but with a day flight, some window might be nice.

Re: Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

Gday

If it's not too much trouble can i ask someone with ExpertFlyer to tell me how many seats are left in each fare bucket for the following flights:

VA1429 14th August 2015
VA1426 18th August 2015

I was hoping to book an American Express complimentary annual flight on these sectors but it seems since Friday availability has gone.

Thanks.

Pele.

Re: QANTAS A380-800 36J & 36K Sydney to Heathrow

Hi

im after some help and the voice of experience...

I am flying July 23 qf10 London to Melbourne . I have gold status at the moment and have upgrades from economy for 3 requested from economy.

could someone please check expert flyer for loading? And then i can guess whether these are possible?

meantime we have 2 ends of a 4 seat taken, and one end of the row behind ( someone else has the other end of that row also), looks like there is some space...

also, my son is a vegetarian. Doors this mean no up grades are likely as his special meal will block them?

thanks

anita
