PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

I'm assuming it's QF93
F1 A0 P0 J0 C0 D0 I0 U0 W0 R0 T0 Z0 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0 G0 X0 E0

Flying today 1 jan 16 from lax to syd on aa7364

Im aa platinum is there any chance for upgrade ?

F7 P7 J0 R0 D0 I0 Y7 B7 W0 H0 K7 M0 L0 S0 V0 N0 Q0 O0

Looks like it will depend on whether pax are in for F upgrades, as that is the only premium availability.

Don't know if that's changed in the last 2 hours but those numbers have changed and you should be looking at QF12 anyway for a true indicator of loadings as that's just the AA codeshare availability. QF12 has the following available:
F3 A0 P0 J3 C3 D3 I0 U0 W3 R0 T0 Z0 Y9 B9 H0 K9 M9 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0 G0 X0 E0

There's some seats in J and Y+ but upgrades will be given to QF WP's first and then OWE if they maintain pecking order and then QF SG before OWS (eg AA PLAT). Not to mention Y isn't full enough to push for op-ups.

Sure, thanks.
So it is QF 93 Melbourne to Los Angeles jan 2nd 2016

Im not sure what all the letters stand for….
But, does that mean there is 2 seats left in first, and 5 in business, and 3 in economy?
If so, what is C5
Are the codes relevant for upgradeable seats?

Thanks again

TQ

Hi,

Just to update, my daughter didn't get the upgrade on QF 93 Melb - LAX on Jan 2nd.

She was allocated 36F, and when we all checked in at first desk, the agent said that 36 D & E, would remain empty as there is a partion next to 36E, and they couldn't sell those seats !!
( She also said that the flight was oversold, so I didn't believe that they wouldn't use those two seats )

However......two people were allocated those seats, and so I'm not sure how that happened

When all three seats are in use, it is not a good seat, as it doesn't fully recline either, and for them to get out, they had to always go past 36F as other way is blocked.

Anyway, we are all here safely in USA now, and that's the main thing.

TQ

Very very good chance of upgrade...even for QFF with no status, the flight is in 12 days and still shows U2.

And to make it even more exciting, the current config is a refurb 332 with the new business suite.

Thank you for the quick reply, do you know where can I find information about interpreting J9 C9 D9 I9 U2 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 G0 X9?
