PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Could someone kindly check QF73 Syd to SFO on 5 Oct? Looking to upgrade classic award in Y to J for 2 pax. Am Platinum but not sure if we will be lucky! Thanks

Your chances of getting the upgrades look pretty good so far!

Assuming both passengers are on the same ticket then I would suggest start thinking about where you want to sit in J :). While the seat map suggests upstairs is unavailable for 2 together, 1AB and 1JK are and these are usually platinum heavy.

There may be other platinums and above in PE and Y who are currently occupying front rows of those cabins but the chances are good

No guarantees until seat belt sign comes on!

The dark arts of yield management. I suspect it's partly to do with price elasticity.

Agreed. Happens all round world: back in June a MLA-ZRH fare was €93 for a Sunday flight on the Wednesday and €278 on Saturday for the same Sunday flight. It's all part of the travel experience.

Can someone please check the following for me? Apologies as I know it is a few flights but like to see if possible to get a business class award seat released. I suspect my chances are very slim but you never know.

07 Oct HKG-SYD QF128
07 Oct HKG-SYD QF118
07 Oct BKK-SYD QF24
07 Oct SIN-SYD QF6
07 Oct SIN-SYD QF82
07 Oct SIN-BNE QF52

Here you go:

QF118: J9 C8 D0 I0 Y9 B9 H9 K0 M0 L0 G0

QF52: J4 C2 D0 I0 Y9 B9 H9 K0 M0 L0 G0

Looking very full all round. I doubt you'd be able to get a seat released on any of these flights as they're all I0.

Understood.

I have flights BKK-SIN-BNE booked and it will cost another $200 to get from BNE to SYD on Friday evening. May as well stay in BKK another 2 nights and leave Friday night. The revenue one-way airfare is ~$750 which is only ~$200 more than current situation.

Going back a week later but can't match up the return airfare cheaply enough.

You may be able to cut out at least 1 of the 3 hop "wallaby" transcontinental

On Oct 8:
PER-SYD
574, 1222, 582 all have I2

PER-MEL
every flight has I4 except 768 I2 648 I3

On Oct7:
PER-SYD
574 I2 / 580 I5 / 582 I6 / 566 I1

PER-MEL
every flight has I4 except 768 I3 / 776 I3 / 648 I2

Thanks. I called Qantas last night and there are no awards from Asia to SYD on 07 Oct and certainly cannot request for seat to be released.

I have found revenue airfare on 07 Oct SQ BKK-SIN-PER. Leaves BKK quite late allowing me full day in BKK to try and organise citizenship and passport for my daughter and arrives early morning in PER and connects quite nicely with economy award PER-ADL-MEL-SYD on 08 Oct. Add on SYD-BNE on 09 Oct and it's only 26,000 QFF points + ~$130.

I went to book the SQ flights BKK-SIN-PER//BNE-SIN-CNX today and there was not a single aisle seat available on the 4 flights apart from the exit rows which require USD20 or USD50 to book. The flights must be very full. Called Reservations and they confirmed there are a few aisle seats available but blocked until online check-in. There is no way I am risking booking any flights without being able to pre-allocate aisle seat.

Back to the drawing board.

Can I please see the loadings for QF81 SYD - SIN on 3/10/16 & QF82 SIN - SYD on 6/10/16.

Hoping for an upgrade but not that confident. Thanks in advance.

Anyone able to check loads for these for me please?

I'm air berlin gold (status match) and want to know chances of op-up from peY to J. If unlikely I will change my FF on the booking to QF as I'm aiming to improve on my current bronze/red status. On the outbound CX couldn't leave my one world sapphire status on the booking for service while diverting my frequent flyer earn to QF...

I'd hazard a guess that op-ups may potentially be possible on both sectors.

KA875 is completely sold out in both classes (doesn't appear to have PE though, only Y or J):
J0 C0 D0 I0 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0N0 Q0 O0

I'm not really sure what's going on with CX137. Appears to have 2 seats remaining for sale in Y, and 2 in PE. Possibly 4 seats left in J?

OK - thanks for that. Yeah I'm in Y on the "domestic" leg. There were 2 seats free in PE when I checked in so makes sense. Maybe best to leave my Air Berlin card in the system then.
