PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Dear AFF'ers,
Would someone please check the flight loadings for QF74 SFO>SYD departing today (14/10/16). We have an upgrade request and are booked in PE (I am QFF Gold). Many thanks.

That flight is completely full save for a few seats in Y and PE. J is completely full. All upgrade requests would have been processed some days ago. An overbooked condition is likely. You may want to check in and get to airport early if travelling on that flight is an imperative

Can someone please flight loadings for QF19 SYD>MNL for tomorrow 16 Oct? Many thanks.

Can you please feedback whether you got an upgrade with the following info: Tier status and original fare bucket.

Yes. Will provide feedback. Look like QF127 chances for upgrade tomorrow is non existence so am thinking of re routing to QF19 direct to Mnl which is final destination. Looks like more chances for points upgrade on QF19 tomorrow.

Hi can someone please help with the flight availability SYD to SFO QF 73, I am going to book Economy and my friend will upgrade me to Business. I want to fly 28-30 of November 2016 but quite flexible. I want to check availability before booking. Thank you so much.

It's kind of too far out to tell IMO.

Thank you so much. But on average what is better to get an upgrade on Monday vs Wednesday?
Also can you please send me a link where I can access this database? I have joined but can't find it :(

Does it matter how far in advance you apply for an upgrade? Or it is the best to wait closer to the date, check availability and then book and apply for upgrade? I really need to get one. I can't sleep in the seated position and it's a 14 hours flight.
Thank you all!

I don't know to be honest. Probably Wednesday because it's mid-week so maybe fewer high status corporate road warriors but I really have nothing to base that on.

You get these results from Expert Flyer - http://www.expertflyer.com/main.do

I think you can do a few queries, but you have to buy a subscription for unlimited searches.

Thank you all!

If you really need the upgrade, I recommend booking business outright. Transpacific is a very heavily trafficked route with lots of people booking paid business class or with quite high status.

When playing the upgrade lottery it is better to expect to travel in the class booked and view the upgrade as a potential surprise.

I don't think time you book plays much of a role. It'll be more about the status of your friend (are they gold? platinum?)

If you really need to travel business there are some creative options you might like to try. E.g. you could probably get business on Fiji Airways by positioning to Auckland for under $4k.

EDIT: Under $4k is actually also available from Sydney without positioning. https://www.google.com/flights/?f=0...0-NANSFO1FJ870,SFONAN0FJ871-NANSYD2FJ915;sc=b

Noticed that QF127 was sub from a B747 to a A330 about 16 hrs out so switched to QF19. All J were full so no points upgrade.....travelled in Y as booked.
Was told that all PE on QF127 were downgraded or switched to other flights.

Thanks again Quickstatus!

Re: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Hi all,

I'd be grateful if someone could provide me with the loadings for Air New Zealand Flight NZ 87 (Auckland to Hong Kong) on Fri 28th October 11:55pm.

Fingers crossed on an upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy using their "one-up" programme, still waiting to hear

Thanks in advance for your help!

Simon
