PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

If someone could kindly see what the upgrade chances are from j to f on QF93 this Thursday the 1st Dec that would be greatly appreciated by Mrs B. Thanks.

Wonder what event is on Sydney coming weekend. Booking my SYD-MEL trip for 4th Dec. Cheapest fare is $300 and the last 2 flights which I normally take is $405. Zero reward tickets for the whole day.

I am currently on a waiting list with my partner on VA820 SYD-MEL - should I bother bugging VA with updates or leave the battle for another day?

Well there IS a reorganisation...both me and my random PE seatmate both got upgrades from PE to Business (beside each other again), for the DXB - SYD leg...
So 3 out of 4 upgrades for the Long Haul legs.
Very Happy with Qantas!!

I'm still learning to understand these codes. For qf9, there are still spaces in both business and premium economy cabins. If so, I can apply for upgrade? For 4? Bronze status? From economy classic reward? ba11 is showing spaces too, but i can't request upgrade if ticketed by qantas, i think.

IB and BA are a bit far out for any accuracy at this stage.

Nothing to stop you putting in for an upgrade with QF9, but for 4 pax and as a NB I think you have less than two chances.

Indeed. Light load. Maybe a row to himself :o. Thankyou dairyfloss.

This is the first time that I request upgrade on a flight, I am only a bronze member, so not sure what to expect...

My wife, myself and our 6 months old baby will be flying from Hong Kong back to Melbourne on 4/1 on QF30, I requested upgrade to business, what are our chances?

Cheers!

Too far out to tell I think, but no I availability is probably not a good sign.

Check back just days out from when you'll fly.

Upgrades are processed for P1 up to a week before departure. As you have NB status you'd hear up to about one day before departure.
