PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Seat Availability for QF9 MEL-LHR Sat 17 June 2017,please. #1 son (WP) looking for Y-J upgrade.

As a WP yes, some hope especially as a solo traveller. The chances are probably better for the DXB-LHR leg (some passengers will fly to other destinations from DXB) so if the MEL-DXB leg doesn't come through he may still get the DXB-LHR leg if he's applied for an upgrade as late as at the gate.

Hi would appreciate if some one would kindly advise loads on the following flights

17th June DUS-DXB EK058

18th June DXB-MEL EK406

Many thanks in advance

Thanks

i presume C then D etc are all classes below business?

No, J C D I and Z are all business.
Generally J is full fare, C & D are somewhat discounted, I is a sale fare and Z is either a deep discount sale fare or an award redemption - depends on the airline - I might look it up for you later.

<5 minute break>

Having looked it up I confirm the above except that Z is listed as meaning first - don't know if that is still true.
Also be aware that if a seat is available in a lower fare bucket it will also show as available in a higher fare bucket.
So any seat available in I will show in the totals for J, C & D as well.
And all seats available in C, D & I will show in the total for J.

T27 and still have fingers crossed for Y+ to J on QF28 heading back home from SCL tomorrow Friday June 16. If not, we will count ourselves lucky for the upgrades over here.

Unless you've been notified already, I'm not liking your chances at this point... do let us know though! Y+ looks pretty quiet.

It's pretty open, yes. If your destination in the States is SFO, then I'd just stick with QF73. It's doesn't have as much of the premium market in it, and so you are less likely to encounter competition for J seats than you are on the LAX routes. That said, MEL/SYD-LAX on the 744 will probably be a little easier than the 388s if you did need to route through LAX inbound. Good luck!

Cheers,
Matt.

Upgrade didn't eventuate Matt.

Then to top it off our allocated seats 13 L/J on the 763 to SCL had dropped off and we're now somewhere down the back in aisle seats.

At least bags checked through to SYD and LATAM's new line in GRU is quite ok even if the offerings are a bit dire.
