PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

How are you aware of this / where was this "announced" (or perhaps acknowledged, accepting it's not "policy")?

I've just never heard it before so am interested.

Hi all

Another question from myself (sorry)... could I please see loadings on QF1 from SYD to LHR departing SYD on 17-Feb-18.
Am booked in J and have requested points upgrade to F, would be interested to see how busy the flight is (I know a bit hard to tell this far out).

Many thanks

I suspect you are right. But you never know (some WPs may already have been bumped to facilitate further Y sales, so what remains could be available).

Let us know how you go.

I know this is late, but will report that there was no upgrade for QF23 on 26-Dec-17 and flight seemed incredibly full, I didn't see a spare seat anywhere in Y.

Also flew back from BKK to SYD on QF24 on 6-Jan-18 - had also requested points upgrade from Y to J - was declined - also a very full flight - what I was pleased with was the small lady in front of me reclining all the way back as soon as possible after take-off and then refusing to put her seat upright for the meal service. Made for a lovely flight. I think I will pick bulkhead seats next time, even with the reduced seat width and not that much legroom, at least wont have someone reclining into me. Off topic I know.

Thanks for the feedback.

In my experience staff on all airlines can be hit and miss with whether they request and then enforce the seat back upright during meals. Personally I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect seats to be upright during scheduled meal services.

Hi all was hoping to get an updated guide on the chance of a points upgrade from J to F for Mrs B and I on QF 9 from MEL to LHR departing this Sunday the 21st of Jan. thanks in advance.

D and/or I availability are good pointers. As always depends on the status levels of those you might be competing with. Lets say a Fair chance rather than High.

Looking at those loadings for business and given the flight is just a few days away, I am thinking the flight is very sold in economy-with no deep discount economy seats for sale. The YBHKL available may actually be an effort to sell some of the business seats.

Hi all,

If someone can look this up and offer an analysis I’d appreciate it.

I (Gold) upgraded my mum (Bronze) on QF12 LAX-SYD departing Sunday 21 January.

Thanks!

Looks pretty full. Depends if the higher status upgrades have gone through yet.
