PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

A few posts above @Ansett managed to snare a MEL-LHR Y-J points upgrade on an S Fare in tighter circumstances (but as a WP - platinum)

Still, I think your chances are pretty good as @serfty alluded to as well:
Quiet loading
Midweek flight

Please report back and let us know how you go and if you snare one - when you were notified

Interesting back in Feb22, @pjm99au reported EF loadings for QF94 on 28/3 as having I0 but is now showing I9?

Thanks, more than happy to report back. I remember about 5 years when I was only silver my wife and I were both able to upgrade on points - came through at about T12. Was surprised because there were a lot less carriers flying the route at the time and we had 2 pax. Maybe helping the situation is that QF96 is flying that same night and the loads on that look a lot more full. Fingers crossed. At least the VA upgrade on the way over is locked in.

It’s unusual for 96 to have higher loading than 94 especially when it was the 747 in the past. I guess it’s because it’s the 787

I’m booked on QF23 from SYD to BKK on Friday (23/3). I’ve requested a Y to J upgrade. I’ve signed up for a free trial of Expert Flyer and the loading is:
J5 C5 D4 I0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 E9

So there are 5 business class seats available, but none in U class (reward/upgrade). Do QF allocate more U seats closer to departure? What are my chances of an upgrade? I’m WP and did opt for upgrade at gate.

Thanks!
Upgrade didn’t come through. Kind of glad as I had plenty of room with the seat next to me empty. Keep the points to try a J to F upgrade from LHR to SYD in July.

Hi all,
I was wondering can anybody advise what loadings on MH148 are like in Economy on Monday, April 4? I am not used to not being able to pre-select seats and am keen to see what the flight is looking like at this stage.

From/To? Happy to look up for people as long as they provide all the details needed.

Apologies, as you can both tell i am in dire need of this upcoming holiday (and am also guilty of not reading the instructions properly). The full details are as dairyfloss pointed out: Monday April 2nd for MH148 from MEL-KUL.

If i am reading this correctly, the load on the Monday afternoon flight in economy looks quite light?

Not particularly light, no - they are down to selling only the MH Flex categories, I believe... possibly one/some buckets of MH Smart. Compare this to the Wednesday flight loads where you can see there are a number of others after K that are still for sale, as well.

Cheers,
Matt.

Upgrade came through at T-20, but only to PE. Still showing this availability but I asked at the lounge and they said I can't upgrade with points any further: F1 A0 J5 C4 D3 I0 W5 R3 T0 Y9 B9 H9K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X9 E9

Still, better than nothing with zero status.
